This guy lived in China for a year:

"Hygiene is another major issue in China. Think of a beautiful girl walking down the street, for a fleeting moment your eyes glance at her, until she hawks up a glob and spits it out onto the pavement. This is also done inside restaurants as well, on carpet. Underarms remain unshaved. Bodies go unwashed for 3 or 4 days. Farting, picking noses, and squeezing pimples are not taboo. They will be done where ever and whenever they feel the need. I'm not talking poor uneducated people either; I'm talking about sons and daughters of factory and business owners.

I travelled to China after watching many a Chinese movie that had reached the shores of the US thinking that Chinese girls would be beautiful. Alas, I was sadly mistaken. Mathematically I would say 3 out of 10 are. If not a little less. But the ones that are beautiful are amazing. I'm 6 foot 3. So I find tall girls attractive. I've found on average Chinese girls are the tallest of all Asians. They have the whitest skin in some parts of the country and their features can be flawless. Their faces never belie their true ages. However, China is still extremely conservative, something I was unaware of. Most girls will not be interested in a foreign man and the ones that are, are often frequent travellers abroad. Even the poor country girls look for Chinese companionship. On average they will show no interest in a white Caucasian. They will comment on your handsome features but never be interested in anything more. I'm excluding prostitutes in all this, of course.

I could never marry or even date a Chinese girl ever. Her selfishness, and also her dominant personality are not to my tastes. As well as watching her pick her teeth, nose and spit at will; no matter how pretty can be a turnoff. Leaving used tampons out in the open in the bathrooms was another major disgusting habit."

Are even the girls so disgusting in China?

As a group, Chinese women are the best looking women that I've ever been around, I would say that 1 in 10 are sexy enough and friendly enough to be girlfriend material, which is better than most countries. I've never seen one spit on the sidewalk, however I did see one puking on the sidewalk one day. You will have to tell them to shave their body hair and to stop freaking out if its a problem, if they don't listen to you just dump them(over the phone).

The general trend in Asia is the further south you go, the friendlier the women are. If your actively looking for a Chinese girlfriend, southern China is probably a good place to start. Women from Sichuan province(Chengdu), are considered to be the most beautiful in the country. However, you can find stunners any where in China.

The best gig for meeting Chinese women is to teach English at a Chinese University. I you don't have this option and you can't speak Chinese you have to meet them online or at night club(only good for hooking up).

Keep in mind that China is a big country. I found the young women in Chengdu to be quite well-dressed and feminine. I didn't see any of them spitting or farting all over the place. They acted like real women and I found the people in general in that region to be very warm-hearted and friendly. A guy who can speak conversational Chinese might do well there. Few people I met there spoke English, but it's a huge city, so maybe some could be around.

Back in 2007, Beijing Taxi drivers were told to "spit into a cup" instead of spitting out the window by the city government.

At least they don't chew betelnuts. Back in 1970s in Taipei, you had to watch where you stand/walk if the taxi drivers decided to spit outside the window. LoL.

If you're traveling to a developing country, you should not be expecting 1st world developed nation standards to begin with. If the country was a 1st world developed nation, then it wouldn't have the opportunities that a poorer developing country has.

While I do find Asian females (the beautiful ones) attractive, there is one thing that is on the top of my list of pet peeves: that they are noisy eaters. They love to slurp their noodles and other ramen-like MSG-loaded concoctions. I always found it rather annoying and unappetizing hearing such noises while I'm eating. I hear its a cultural thing, especially in Japan. If you don't make noises, it is considered insulting and means you don't like what you're eating. WTF.

Peasants in some countries often squat when they get tired of standing.

But Mainland Chinese people are far to diverse to stereotype. Geographical, social class, and ethnic differences are extremely varied.

Falcon, your pic is funny. Turkish guys also like to squat but I have never seen woman doing this. It looks like they are at the toilet.

I think people from poorer backgrounds are more practical. The richer want communicate a certain image.

On the one hand I am for naturality and practicality on the hand not.
