They're cute enough, I suppose, if you're a single foreign man and you want something new. Like a dish you never tried before. They'd probably make perfectly fine wives and perform well-enough in whatever areas you'd need them to perform. But, nah. It's a no for me lol. It seems like my personal tastes and those of other foreigners are miles apart now, PD, as are yours. We've been spoiled, haven't we?

Indeed we have been spoiled, @MarcosZeitola, but also look at things with a degree of cynicism that has nothing to do with the "tropics goggles" most YT vloggers who spend a few months in the Philippines seem to wear.

I showed this video to C, her opinion is that most of these vloggers aren't even that happy and actually know the province girls they get to talk to are way, way below standard for Filipinos. I think it's just that their ego cannot process that even girls of that kind go all "meh" when asked if they see themselves dating a foreigner.

The most jarring thing to me is when abroad, meeting a group of "Filipina spouses of foreigners" and it's always... this type:





It's never quite... "it" you know?

But I feel many foreigners never notice just how much better they could have done, because they never actually live in the Philippines for more than a few months at most. Then they go abroad and see all the other foreign men who took their spouses home, all equally unappealing, and they never put two-and-two together. The bubble isn't burst, and all is right...

Now if you're living there, long term? Things change. Your perspective changes. The romance is taken out of things, and just having a "cute girl who laughs shyly and makes little corny jokes and playfully slaps your shoulder" or whatever doesn't do it anymore. You notice how her nose is a little flatter than those of girls you see with local dudes. Her skin a little darker. It's all just a little... lesser.

And after a while it becomes jarring. Because it hits you like a freight train: you're with the Filipina equivalent of a Chinese "leftover woman" and honestly, it stings.

Very few foreigners reach these conclusions because very few get out of their little bubble of either "expats hanging out together in the Philippines with their foreign spouses" or they find themselves in a similar bubble while abroad. But once you do reach these conclusions, yes, it's jarring. I just said goodbye to my girlfriend yesterday, will depart in a week or two and my goodness, walking in a mall with her I am struck by how unique her beauty is. And how lucky I am to have found her. Needle in a haystack stuff, my friend.

C, too, is unique in a number of ways, not only in terms of her looks but her overall background and intelligence. I had an intelligent and tall-nosed ex who somewhat favored an Indian or Latina girl, but she was also very dark and short at the same time. It's only now, having seen and observed "the other side" long enough, that things have changed for my. My views, my tastes, everything. I'm grateful for it, but it's rare. And it's rare for a reason. Almost by design, it has to be so. People don't really want to see it, anyway, and I cannot blame them.

Well, you said it yourself, the epiphany you are referring to doesn't happen when, as it's the majority of cases, these men go back to their home countries and implicitly compare their fresh fiancees or wives with the kinds of women their peers are with, or they could have ended up with, if their gut instinct hadn't pushed them East.

Yes, they have a dirt poor, relatively uneducated girl but it doesn't matter, so long she is 10 or 20 years younger, slender, with a cute (if vaguely Malay or Austronesian) face. And, personality-wise, they are mostly looking for a devoted wife who doesn't have much of an opinion on anything, so will never contradict them, get into a debate or, heaven forbid, a fight.

I'd say 2:48 looks a little too indigenous to my liking and I do not really appreciate her nose shape too much. She's "cute" in the sense that, she's kind of adorable, standing there all awkward and smiling shyly at the camera while the white lard ass and his unappealing paramour interview her. She looks like someone I'd give a hug too, or a pat on the back of her head but I would certainly not date her. Number 11:55 is alright, but again, nothing to really write home about.

I like their hair a bit thicker, their facial features a bit more refined. I like nice eyebrows, and noses that aren't flat. Someone who would turn heads, rather than someone who might be mistaken for the maid lol.

I'm honestly ridiculously picky so it took me about six months to find The One. Just spent a week with her, as a matter of fact. Really reignited my fire for a more traditional and conservative (and faithful!) way of living... she's absolutely worth it.

There's really no point in arguing taste, brother, we all like what we like. But it does amaze me sometimes how there's such an incredible amount of variety when it comes to what people are into and what they aren't. I've seen my former father-in-law go wild over girls who I thought were very "meh" and I have seen foreign men insisting their partner is "incredibly hot" or "gets a lot of looks".

Now I have zero intention of being mean here but I'm sure @publicduende would agree with me that it's unlikely for a girl like that to frequently get compliments from completely random Filipino men. She's simply not "the type" a Filipino man would wolf-whistle and go wild over.

Anyway, different folks, different strokes. We like, what we like. And the sheer variety of what we, as men, like, is honestly spectacular. I mean there are men in America who legit like super fat bitches and even overfeed their girlfriends and wives to the points of morbid obesity so they can get their rocks off... we're a strange and fascinating species.

I have high standards for youth and beauty so many Filipinas don't cut it for me.
My favourite types are slim, petite and cute with a younger acne free face and a nice smile.
Not interested in chubby, and/or ones with bad teeth, bad skin, or unattractive faces, like the guys girl in the videos.

I have met hundreds of Filipinas on my many trips there and I typically only like 1-2 out of every ten I meet and that is even after screening them for looks online.

As Tom Leykis says, the all natural cure for ED is a young as possible but legal very attractive girl naked.

He also said you know why Bob Dole recommends Viagra when you look at Elizabeth Dole.

If you have ED, the girl is not hot and/or young enough.

Since I'm picky about looks, and I was looking for one monogamous relationship, for marriage, I wanted to get a very pretty girl who I was attracted to. I'd say my wife was in the 9-10 range. She still gets compliments about how beautiful she is. When people see her picture, they often say she's pretty. "Oh your wife is very beautiful.'

People from the Philippines think she is pretty and they often think she is one of them. People would respond to her in Tagalog in a huff when she'd ask directions in the Philippines. They thought she was being snobby by speaking to them in English, and then she said she was Indonesian and they apologized and answered her.

Actually, as you may (or may not) have noticed, catcalling and making explicit compliments to girls considered hot or sexy, or simply average girls who happen to wear skimpy dresses, is quite common over here. It's more common among masa (working class) people, like in a public market or a cheap mall, or a street full of construction workers, etc. The civilised urban middle class tends not to behave that way, unless our poor boy is drunk

To clarify, as I said on another post, there are girls who are too morena, or too ugly-faced (the "hipon" thing) to attract overt attention from the local men. Yet, many of those men wouldn't mind at all having s*x with them, given a discreet chance.

I remember this time when Winston shared pics of his ex-girlfriend and baby mama, Dianne. He was proud of her, and he claimed she was "considered to be beautiful by Filipino people too" and got a lot of looks, attention and even whistles. People rather ruthlessly called him out for this. Which was kind of cruel, but I sort of get it, too, since quite a few forum members at the time lived in the Philippines and knew she was perfectly average for a Filipina, just unusually tall for a member of her ethnicity:

I think a part of the reason why Filipino men like the paler-skinned, more Caucasian-featured girls is because those are the type of genes they want for their future offspring; makes all the difference in the world between your son looking like a jeepney driver or a movie star. Of course when you marry and reproduce with a foreigner, this is no longer an issue, since the foreign genes would cancel out some of the less desirable Filipino traits: the foreigner is likely taller, even if he's not white or tall-nosed, and usually has features markedly different from local men. It's about giving your kids an advantage in the future.

Now that last part I disagree with...And it sounded brutally false on many levels, I mean if that's the case why don't women just breed with negros instead of white men then if all they cared about is height and all that other unimportant stuff? I'm quite short for a mixed male and despite having black and Indian in me I am not all that tall , my cousin is who is in the 6 height range, and not all white males are super tall either. I believe I do have poor genes mostly because the majority of my life I've been very very sick. I was also mentally challenged since the 3rd grade.

Height also don't really mean a damn thing nor does it give you any actual advantages over a man that's shorter than you are unless you live in some country like America where height is just flat out overrated. You have a lot of tall men in the world but that doesn't mean they are at better advantages than men who aren't so tall. Especially since every woman isn't hung up on a man's height, that's a lame Western issue with most women judging men because they aren't "tall enough."
