Our baby Angelo's birthday is coming up on January 9! He will be one year old! It's his first birthday so we will be throwing a big party at the house. That means he was born one year ago. Time moves fast huh?

I wish I could invite you all, but most of you aren't in the area. Oh well. Feel free to send us your blessings, best wishes, ecards, birthday cards, etc. anyway.

To celebrate my son's upcoming birthday:

I just uploaded the video of the day my son Angelo was born in January 2009. Here he is as a newborn in the birthing hospital with Dianne.



Here below are some clips of Angelo during his first month as a newborn and his baptism at church too. Something inexplicable happened after his baptism though. Just before he was baptized, my camcorder ran out of battery. While I was switching to the backup battery, the priest did the water baptism act and it didn't get on film. Just my luck, I thought. But amazingly, the film shows that the baptism DID occur while I was filming. That's odd. It's as if by some miracle the event was changed in the past so that the baptism managed to get on tape. Totally inexplicable. Unless priests usually baptize newborn babies twice? I dunno. I guess some miracles and mysteries just can't be explained.

My son Angelo just had his 10th birthday! Wow he made it through his first decade. See video clips below that Dianne took of his celebration!

He now reads this forum periodically btw, at least he tries to. Not sure how much he understands of it though. lol. He's starting to get curious about stuff, such as what this site is all about. He's asking Dianne now why I don't work a regular job like everyone else and why I have this site, etc. I told Dianne to tell him "If you grew up in the US you'd understand what this site was about, but consider yourself lucky that you didn't. Some things are better for you not to know or experience ... such as prisons, hell, wars, torture, and the modern Satanic American culture" lol. Better not to be curious about such things. lol

Winston, did you ever get him dual citizen ship for USA (or Taiwan)? He could then work there one day if he wants? The salaries are much better. He can only make a small salary in Philippines.

No not yet. I prepared all the paperwork though and it's ready to send to the embassy. The problem is that in the Philippines it's so hot and humid that I cannot concentrate on stuff like that and there's always this urge to go out and have fun, so it's hard to ever get anything done. Every expat there has this problem. And the aircon in most hotel rooms is not enough to keep the heat and humidity out or create a quiet working space. It has way too many distractions and it's near impossible to do any work there. That's why I have to get a lot of stuff done in Taiwan.

I'm not sure he wants to live in the US though. After he saw my 1988 and 1989 videos that I put on YouTube, and saw how depressed and hopeless I looked, he understood that the US is not a happy place at all, and that no amount of money is worth feeling and looking depressed all the time like I was in those videos from the 1980's, which I also posted here in the forum but none of you commented on. I should start a new thread about them with a catchy title. Dianne also agrees that having a good salary is not worth being depressed and miserable all the time in a prison like environment where everyone totally ignores you unless you fit in well and shine and are really cool and have a clique.

So you're Philippines now unable to concentrate? I don't see any 1988 and 1989 videos on YouTube showing you so depressed you need to post the link to these.

I've heard Angelo is very smart. I doubt he want to follow in his father's footsteps and run the HappierAbroad website. He may want to be a scientist. I don't think he can do that in Philippines.
