Look at Burma/Myanmar- people get killed in their doorway when these "misunderstood people" get all cranked-up at the mosque & go on killing spree. They were willing to travel to go get the Yazidis.

They're willing to get into a 12-man raft with 50 other people to get to another continent to annex & scam people that they aren't supposed to take aid from according to their religion that tells them to take over other cultures & transform it into their style of culture. The US backed Whahabis insurrection has been crushed in Chechnya and the ruling Muslim Chechens are patriotic Russians loyal to the state. Putin has stated that Orthodox Christians and Muslims have been living in peace in Russia for centuries.

Very interesting. Christianity has become too degenerate so sustain any culture. I wonder if Putin realizes this. Basing the future of Russia on a civilized form of Islam would result in a truly great nation.

Anyway I'm used to say that what's written in the Bible and the Koran isn't much important to both the respective believers, the Christians and Muslims.
The great majority of them have never read the whole holy book and even if they did they probably don't have the intellectual means to elaborate an own understanding of the meaning of what they read.
What really matters, because it's very easy to know and to understand, it's the example, the model of the perfect Christian and the perfect Muslim that believers are supposed to follow.
Those models are Jesus and Mohammed.
The first was a man of peace in all means, the second was a leader and a man of war.
That's enough to say that all Christians are required to be peaceful as Jesus and they are not legitimate to use violence against anyone including non Christians, while at the same time all Muslims are legitimate (if not even encouraged), by the example given by their own prophet, to use violence and be ruthless against non Muslims, and to participate to any war the Muslims are involved against non Muslims till the whole world will be Muslim only (which is the main mission of the Islam religion. It can be said that, unlike the Jews who don't care to convert anyone, Christians too look forward and work for converting to Christianity as many people as possible, hopefullythe whole world; but the Christians have missionaries that works for spread and converting people by words and not by swords ).

That's therefore not a surprise that on Saudi Arabia flag (Saudi Arabia it's the Muslim holy land) there's only two elements: an Arab text professing the faith in Allah and prophet Mohammed and... a sword!

Also note that the so called "sword verses" (from prophet Mohammed) are among the latest that have been "revealed" and therefore, by the traditional rule that dictates that last override the previous, its said that they override about 200 of previous more tolerant verses like "there's no compulsion in religion"

And some people think that Christians are more violent than Muslims. As proof for this, at least one person above likens door to door evangelism with aggression and violence, implying that that act of love (to get them into eternal life) is an act of war worse than Islam. Such people don't understand ANYTHING though, even focusing their attention in the wrong place.

No sense in bothering with people who believe that Christianity is evil and Islam is good. Their eyes are blinded and their hearts are gross. It is interesting to read, just for the study of human psychology.

I see the main difference about these two religions, that Christianity became less and less violent over the last centuries, while Islam since about 50 years is getting significantly more and more aggressive.

I never understood why Islam could become so popular, for both men and women. I find nothing attractive with this religion. If you really want to be a Muslim and do really all what the Quran tells you to do, it is a very painful life without any pleasure... a lot of restrictions for both, men and women.

How can people feel happiness if they are not allowed to sing, to listen to music, to dance, not allowed to meet people of the other sex for nice talk, to be under dress codes when going out of the own home, to eat only certain food, not to eat during day for one month, to pray all the time but at least 5 times a day and so on....

Islam is the only religion with the strength to reject modern liberal feminist culture, and that is reason enough to support it. It is popular because people are naturally attracted by strength. Most of the things it prohibits are actually dangerous for most people - music, dance, mixing the sexes, and unrestricted dress. Praying 5 times a day is a good reminder for people to behave. But this still leaves plenty of pleasures - good food, same-sex friendship, family, and craftsmanship without being trashed by modern scum for producing quality.

Russians are often Orthodox Christian orientated or atheists, Islam is more around the former Asian Soviet-Union states. Some places like Turkmenistan etc.

Russia has also its problems with Muslims, however the country is very large and the Russian population is only 145 million people. Maybe less than 10 percent are Muslims, but they are not ethnic Russians.

If you are a Muslim in Russia and asking too much or promoting the Islamic State, a Russian prison cell is reserved for you and it is no fun to be forced to work there especially during winter time.

This is not true, Islam is NOT the only religion which rejects feminism.

Buddhism has not much to offer to women either.

Yes, but also, don't forget, what most people think of as Christianity is not Christianity at all, but merely a facsimile. When people say Christianity over 500 years, they are probably thinking of Catholicism. Catholicism is not Christianity, it is a poor imitation of Christianity. Go into a real Christian church, it is probably a small building with no pictures, no statues, no holy water, no celibate priests, and no repetition of the same prayers over and over again.

The Catholic church is filled with idolatry, statues, worship of dead saints and Mary, veneration and exaltation of the Pope to be equal with Christ, and priests are forbidden to marry. The Bible warns us against religions which forbid marriage, which forbid to eat meat, which have priests who wear long robes, which worship angels, which worship the Queen of heaven (Mary, the mother of God). Some Catholics even pray to Mary or to "saints" instead of directly to God Himself or to Christ.

The Catholic church is really just a continuation of the pagans that were in the time of Jeremiah combined with mixed around with other pagan religions, such as Buddhism.

Also the Catholic church itself is against Christianity. In true Christianity, all a person has to do is believe that Christ is the Son of God who died for ALL their sins. In Catholicism, a person must not only "believe" but also must complete all the sacraments, such as baptism, matrimony, communion, etc., which are works, making the work of Christ void by doing their own works for salvation. The Catholic church would torture and kill Christians who preached true Christianity.

You even have Popes who say that a person doesn't need to believe in God at all, and that a relationship with Christ is dangerous. Do you see how Catholicism is not Christianity?

I don't really care about what Christianity related believers discuss among themselves. I don't care if somebody nowadays is a Jehovah or a Catholic, Jewish, a member of a Buddhist sect ... or a Sikh, a Hindu or Zoroastrian... up to them.

However this thread is about Islam, I find nothing in Islam which might be interesting for me, same as with any other religion.

This only happens if you are at war with Islam. Otherwise Islam allows freedom of religion. I attend a mosque regularly and I am not Muslim and there is no requirement that I convert.

Dhimmis under Islam generally had much more freedom than other religions had under Christianity. I know this from Jewish history.

I see it differently. I see it about how the situation is today.

The Pact of Umar is clearly about what not only the 'Islamic State', but many Muslim countries are trying to force on the 'infidels' little by little.
If you know about a single church or temple of whatever religion which was recently constructed in countries like Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Pakistan etc. but even in moderate places like Turkey and Egypt, let me know.

Do you know that Afghanistan was a Buddhist peaceful country? Full with Buddhist art? Unfortunately Talibans destroyed everything, even the famous statues of Bamiyan near Kabul. A horrible act against any Buddhist believer in the world.
