Asia, FSU, or stay in USA?

I've come to the conclusion, even aside from dating, going abroad is pretty much the only way I can live comfortably and have a future. In most of Asia, the unemployment rate is only 4%, compared to at least 8 by official figures here. I read somewhere regarding English teaching someone said "It's either that or work at Best Buy." And this is true with "the new economy." There's seriously not much money to be made here working a "job." Starting a business has potential, but as far as working for someone else, not really.

I was looking at English teaching jobs in Taiwan, the ones that require a bachelors usually make like $15-20 an hour. In a place where apartments are like $300-400 a month. Most of those jobs are part time, but still, I could live like a king, whereas in USA the only way I could have any free time or buy any nice stuff/pursue hobbies is if I lived with my parents.

My plan for Asia would be probably go to Taiwan and make money. My expenses would be lower than living on my own in USA there, and I'd be able to work part time there and get paid probably what my full time wages in USA would be. So I could live there and save money for a few years.

My dream country is Japan, though. Because, well, anime and stuff. I don't know. I have the impression in Japan I'd either totally love it or totally hate it. Nothing inbetween. Japan I'd make equivalent money as in TW, but, it's more expensive to live there. So unless I already had money set aside, I wouldn't be able to make a lot of money there, just enough to live on paycheck to paycheck I'm guessing. Of course what I'd like to do is if I liked Japan is buy a house for fairly cheap out in the countryside (they can be as cheap as like $5000) and then not really have to worry a lot about bills and whatnot. Possibly start farming out in the countryside, maybe not to make money, but enough for some food for myself, fruits and whatnot.

One thing with Japan is I see that I can make a lot of money there, just not working there. But import/export business, basically. There's a pretty big demand for used Japanese car parts. I'm sure in Japan there's probably a few American car collectors as well. Basically, the situation is like, sell an old crappy Nissan Skyline that costs $1000 on Japanese craigslist for like 8-10K in America/Canada, and do vice versa with a Mustang/Camaro/etc in Japan. There's lots of junkyard Japanese motors/wheels/etc for sale here now. The competition exists, but it's not steep, compared to if, say, I was selling electronics from China or something. Also, regarding the countryside, it'd be much easier for a car business like this out in the Japanese countryside compared to a city. I mean, this wouldn't make me gobs of money or anything, but I do think I could live comfortably doing this. Even aside from cars, for Japanophiles, if I were to start selling just used Japanese stuff in general, or old electronics (I read one guy before his lines of credit were stopped, was making like $500k a year buying used camera equipment in Japan) there's money to be made from Japan.

So I'm more set on Asia. Part of me wants to try the FSU countries. But I can't envision any way for me to make equivalent money there. I don't know shit about FSU countries (well I know more than the average American...) Everyone in the FSU countries is broke so I can't resell their stuff they buy for conspicuous consumption. FSU might be better, though. I'd have more Orthodox people to hang around with, probably find an Orthodox wife, etc, whereas Asia religiously would be the same as America or worse, ie, no Christians. I think FSU countries are about equivalent to live in price wise compared to Taiwan, though, right? $200-400 for apartments in, say, Poland or Bulgaria, right? Socially I could be much better off in FSU, though, than Asia. But my interest in FSU stuff is like, less. I have like a gig or so of Russian pop music on my computer vs like 20 of Japanese music. Plus I probably like Asian food better, too, though both regions I think most girls know how to cook better than America.

Lastly, there's staying in USA. Probably wouldn't find a wife I'd enjoy living with here. Everything sucks. No real future here. My plan for America would be to basically quit. I think it's called ghosting on this forum. Buy some land in Maine or New Hampshire or something, and live off grid and basically retire at age 30 or something. This honestly probably would be easiest. I'd not have to do any college to do this (my plan to get a bachelors is just CLEP as much as possible here...) I'd just have to work said crappy jobs here (probably clerical stuff, which is my current job) and save up/make payments on the land. To be fair, living out in the country I'd probably do in Japan because it's cheaper, but even in Japan I'd be less isolated than the extreme isolation of what I'm describing here.

So part of this, yeah, is a money question, and part of it is a social/lifestyle question. What do people here think?

Unless you're a tall buff nordic type don't expect to have much luck dating in Japan. Judging by recent trip reports from others on rooshv, your average foreigner gets laid less there than guys doing pickup in Los Angeles. Japan regularly tops the most expensive cities lists. Tokyo is insanely expensive. I think even tier 2 cities in Japan are as expensive as U.S. tier 1 cities like Chicago. I don't know about the rural countryside but keep in mind that you'll also be dealing with provincial Japanese attitudes there.

Taipei, Taiwan has a comparable COL with America's tier 2 cities. From what i've seen of Taipei in all my comparisons it's not that expensive. It's on par with Bangkok.

Most FSU countries are cheaper than the major asian cities.

I would take their cost comparison with a grain of salt.

Just looking at the capital of my home country... They state that a daily menu in a business district of Berlin only costs 8 €. Realistic would be 15-20 € (including a soft-drink). For 8 € you will get nothing more than a small snack and a soft-drink.

They also take into consideration things like red wine and cheese, things that are making third world countries look more expensive than they really are.

I was supposed to go to Russia to teach English this year, but I turned-it down at the last moment because I didn't like the racial situation in the country. You would feel much more safer there as a White person, than I could as an Asian person over there. Besides that, the pay is good and the cost of living is pretty cheap. And I prefer Russian/Eastern European women over Asian women any day of the week...

But I can understand the psychological need for validation, thus: the white god complex. Some guys thrive on being seen and treated as some kind of comic book meta human. The only way to satisfy that urge is to go to some country where there are loads of small brown women who flock to white men like they are gods. There's always some place in SEA or Latin America where they can have this social situation. It's the closest way some people can come to fulfilling the conquest fantasies they had while reading stories from those bygone eras. It also reinforces the existing racial/social order they grew up with in the U.S.

In Eastern Europe things are different. They are on more equal footing but the economic
class is different. It's not as glorious even if the women are more attractive. Plus they are still dealing with white women and that triggers all sorts of insecure associations with their mother or white American women in general.

From what I remember most of those guys just prefer white women and like EE women because they offer a high standard of beauty for your average male. That's fine and part of what happierabroad is about. Americaninmexico doesn't like non-whites or jews.

The whole white god complex is more of a mentality. I'd say half of the typical single white guy who travels to asia develops this or has this mindset already. If you talk with them a bit you know what they really think after awhile.

Another recommendation is Latin America. One thing that must be considered is how close Latin America is to the United States. Move to Texas or Florida and you are much closer physically and psychologically (lots of Latinas in TX and FL). You are just a short flight away from Latin America. Cost of living is cheap in TX and FL-- earn and work during the summers and fly south for the winters.
