The reason behind this is that asian-american women are extremely insecure because they live in a society which constantly devalues their ethnicity and culture. They look at themselves as second class citizens and dating white is a hypergamous status move. It's not merely a status thing though a lot of asian guys in the U.S. have zero game or spend all their times with noses in books or playing video games.

Plus most asian-american's have parents that were socially awkward, emotionally aloof, and super strict. That sort of upbringing creates perfect academic and office drones but it's terrible for instilling personality and confidence. For asian-american guys it totally ruins any ability to date or relate to women for asian-american women they deal with it by marrying "up" in their eyes and removing themselves from the culture entirely since that's the easiest option for them.

A distinction needs to be made between:

Asian Americans and
Asian Asians

Furthermore, Asia is such a huge place--where do you mean?

Let's start with the US where Asian means people of Mongolian appearance. I don't think they have a fetish but within the US British-based racial hyerarchy, the way to "power" is to marry into the Anglo mainstream which is now basically a mixture of various earlier European groups ( and which now includes Ashkenazi Jews and even Turks and Arabs-- all three from Western Asia originally) who are "Anglicized" to this or that degree- meaning they had adopted the earlier culture of the original British settlers.

Moving to Asia- outside of Thailand, no one has any Pan-Asian ethnicity and no one divides people by US standards. People are either locals or foreigners and are called by the name of their citizenship/ethnicity- Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Cambodians, etc.

White people are called by this or that name but no one calls them Caucasian- just "foreigners" or "Westerners".

Do women have a fetish in those countries for White/Euro men? Some do-- particularly if they are poorer or older or had a bad experience with local men. Or if they have been watching all these Hollywood movies.

In Southern or Western Asia no such fetish exists.

This is very true in places that haven't been affected too much by "white, western culture." However, in places that have been (i.e most of Japan) the white worshipping mentality is off the page.
