There might be, but I also know that Newsmedia sources are looking for headlines to sell newspapers and generate clicks. A story about a nice refugee family enjoying a picnic on the banks of the Rhine isn't going to bait a lot of clicks. They're going to look for stories that are going to get people to click, and, in the process, will generate hysteria.

A lot of news sources exaggerated the threat from Iraq, and whipped the country into a war frenzy.

Note that, in the present election cycle, we are not getting anything in the way of careful analyses of the specific proposals of the candidates, but rather a series of headline stories about Donald Trump's insults. He knows how to play the game, and how to get headlines.

I'm not saying that specific rapes didn't happen. I'm nothing akin to a Holocaust denier. I'm not saying that the rapes aren't tragic. But, I am suspicious that the threat may be exaggerated, for the sake of generating clicks.

Just let in the elderly, infirm, and women? I think that part of Europe's strategy was to bring in people who were young and who would work and pay taxes to support the aging populations. Like the USA does.
