I'm one of those people who thinks about but doesn't do it. My reasons are :

* Panic attacks. I used to have them, and when you've had a few you develop a fear of having them, and that's what I have. The thought of suddenly being in another world is very scary

* I haven't travelled in years and years, which makes it worse

* If I was to go to Tenerife, which is where I'm from, and which is one of the places that I'd love to go to (I've been there a few times) I would get very emotional, which would make the panic thing worse. ie memories, feeling a bit uncomfortable and out of touch, etc

* Money. But that's the least of my worries, and it's not a huge problem ultimately

So I feel stuck. It's horrible.

That uncomfortable feeling when going to a different country. That's just you getting out of your comfort zone and experiencing new things. Here's what I do, I research a little on countries I want to go. Then depending on price, visa, food costs and other crap. I buy the ticket, non refundable. Then I think to myself "Well shit, now I have to go." So, you start researching even more, coming up with plans and getting all your business straighten out. Best motivation is when your back is against the wall.

My friend Steve R wanted to tell all the guys out there that with every month that goes by, you become LESS and LESS attractive to women, because you get older. You can't turn back the clock and each month that passes by is gone forever. So you end up with more regret as you grow older and more time is wasted. So it's best to GET OUT OF AMERICA ASAP!!!

You should hear him say this in person. He has a very convincing tone, which you can't hear in text on the screen.

Winston why do you keep promoting this huckster? When is he going to put up pics of all the 7-8 normal Thai women he supposedly bedded with ease.

For those that have trouble motivating themselves to get off their butts, try getting a job (or business) that requires you to travel.

Winston, are you going to go to Mexico soon?

Or will you be forever state side? I would pay to see content from you as you troll the mexican mamasitas.

We can do blogs, video blogs, a radio show all of this. HD cameras are affordable, high quality usb headsets with mics are affordable as well. Let's do this!
Repa, winston, falcon, and the rest of the Asian guys here.. we can also do this!

Well I've had all kinds of problems living in another country.

Money's not one of them. In fact I've seen a few job adverts in Bangkok. I even applied for one. It's not hard to find work in a country with 0.8% unemployment.

It's been a mad year. I feel sorry for those people on my facebook who are posting photos of taking their dog for a walk and stuff.
I was Happier Abroad for a while but Covid killed that off.

Here's a funny Murphy's Law that explains why many of us procrastinate and stall about going abroad. lol

I haven't been abroad for 10 years, and the only thing holding me back is the temporary debt
incurred as a result of divorce expenses. Once they're paid off in a few months, I'm off to Asia!

It is. People think of it as just a holiday destination. It's much more than that. And there's a lot of history. For example, latin America was originally populated by people from there (and the other islands).

This is a concern.

But, ultimately, the military keeps denying my leave requests (and going to any country for less than 2 weeks is a waste of money imo).
