Can't check in online for American Airlines trip to Bogota

I have a flight from Miami to Bogota tomorrow. I got the email telling me to check in, but when I try to check in the website tells me "Unable to check in. Please check with an agent at the airport". Does anyone know if this is normal?

It's a common issue and nothing to worry about. If you have baggage you'll have to check it in anyway. Just go to the counter and check in.
