A few things I didn't like about the Dominican Republic

food- mostly high fat ,fried food everywhere (especially the deep fried chicken).

music- extremely LOUD music everywhere, of the same songs over and over. (merengue, bachata) horrible regaeton.

scams/hustle- alot of people are going to try and scam you. Scams that are very elaborate.This happens in most third world countries, but Dominicans take it to the next level.

black/haitian hatred-MOST dominicans absoltely HATE Haitians with a passion. Even if the dominican is the same skin color as the Haitian, they fell that they are better, even though they all came from the same slaves of hispanola.

Extreme self hate- Mostly all dominicans completely deny their african ancestry. Most people use very powerful hair relaxers to make their hair straight, also many dominicans use skin bleach to make their skin light. There is an expression in the DR called "mejor la raza" which better the race, which mean whiten your offspring.

Crime- The DR has become increasingly dangerous for tourists. There is a website dedicated to tourists being victimzed in the dominican republic.

Inflated gringo prices- whenever you buy or pay for anything in the DR, you will get an inflated (gringo price). Even if they gave you the price already, 5 minutes later the price will be jacked up for no apparent reason at all.

You have to admit, though, DR chicks are Hot!!

I had one hitting on me, when I visited the country a few years back. Damn...I should've gone after her...

I got the feeling some DR chicks liked Asian men, too.

zboy you have a very bad conception of how others think of asian men. I have met some male asian badasses and have lots of respect for asians. don't be so hard on yourself
