I had it worse. I actually hooked up with a girl whose ex-bf was a paedo, who has been convicted for crimes made in the Philippines and jailed in the US on his return. The most disturbing thing is that the fu**er managed to have two kids, both girls, from my date and another girl from Cebu. And, to make it worse, apparently his conviction pushed his elder daughter in the US, in her mid-thirties, to come out and testify against her dad: she had apparently been herself abused as a child.

I have to confess that listening to that story was a deal-breaker for me. Apart from being darker skinned than usual, there was absolutely nothing wrong with this girl. Yet, to know that she had been related to a man of such dark and reprehensible past made me think to what extent these girls will fall for these kinds of men, when nobody else will date them.

Could you give a summary of what kinds of foreigners would end up with which types of filipinas (from the link).

Also, what occupations would the different classes have? Where would they live?

And how dark is considered too dark?

Salamat po.
LOL what's the article for? It seems to have an "advertising audience" angle and is humorous, but I wouldn't consider it a benchmark of Filipino people!

According to its classification, it would be a little bit of C and mostly D.

It's too difficult to say, you have to observe a large sample for a decent period of time (>6 months) and then you will start discerning.

In terms of occupations, most girls foreigners hook up with and marry don't even have a job, because they are not qualified to have one. This is a country where you need a degree to even hope to work as a cashier in a Jollibee, so stiff the competition is.

Educationally, I think the main difference is between:
- girls who do want to do something with their lives, get a degree from a cheaper (but tougher) public or semi-public university, like Pete's Kathy, and find a decent job, and
- girls who prefer sitting back on a chair in an Internet Cafe and lure some foreign chicken to go visit them and marry them; these are the girls who so easily put out to foreign men: they know that if they keep riding enough white c*cks, one of them will eventually fall for them, commit and start the gravy train.
So most foreigners who go to the Philippines pursue women who are lower class? I don't understand that. If I was there I wouldn't do that, I'd go for those who either have jobs or who are looking for jobs (or in between jobs). I also don't understand who so many foreigners even bother with prostitutes. It's pointless. Women in the Philippines are very friendly, so why not go for the quality ones? I know they don't all want a foreigner, but I'm sure many do, or don't mind. It seems like such a waste of time to go to a country where the culture makes women nicer, and then to go for the low hanging fruit.

It seems to me that the Philippines attracts the lowest quality western males. Personally I wouldn't want one who is too well off (higher middle class), but I would go for those who are normal and have a good attitude and work ethic, even if life is a bit hard at times.
I don't get this either. I know I have the <30 aspect Duende was referring to but I can't remember one girl that I've dated/hooked up with that didn't have a job and a degree. I've dated CPAs, Engineer, a Pharmacist, a Half Chinese girl who was wealthy as hell, Marketing Assistants, Call Center girls, etc. My previous LTR was with a mobile marketer who banked at least 3k (American) a month, took regular trips to Singapore and Thailand. My current girl I met last February while traveling is a nurse, looks half Korean (but full filipino). Shes been all over SE Asia on multiple trips and has plenty of luxuries. Am I married to any of them, well no but I at least had the opportunity. And some of them did go on to marry >30 guys.

One caveat I will make is that life in the Philippines can be tough without an avenue to escape to. If all you have to do is chase tail, drink, watch T.V. and sleep. Wake up do it all over it will make for an incredibly depressing time. I've had some great highs and some utter lows while traveling in the country. I found myself after I ended it with my LTR simply waking up each morning in Iligan, eating, walking to the mall, go to the gym, back to hotel, getting drunk alone at night and redoing that routine for 9-10 days straight. You somehow need a purpose, something to strive towards that keep your negative thoughts at bay. A social network, an expat community, a weekly job or volunteer activities, sports, etc. Being Happier Abroad has got to be more then just trying to get a woman. Pleasure comes from multiple facets of life.

That's why for anyone who wants to live there permanently, they should get a part time job (even if they don't need the money) or do volunteering, or find other ways to get involved in daily life. And make friends, be a godfather to someone's kids, whatever it takes to make the place home. Be somebody in the community, otherwise you're just living as a long term tourist.

I actually get you, Hammanta. There are plenty of professional women around and they are all accomplished in their own way, whether as businesswomen and entrepreneurs, corporate managers or high-ranking government officers. The issue is, they are all one or more of the following:

1) unattractive (typical chubby stress eaters);
2) single moms and/or married ("pending annulment" is the common euphemism for "married but neither of us cares about cheating anymore");
3) workaholic and/or career-obsessed, with little time left for social/sex life, when not, "life";
4) in their early to mid to late thirties, which doesn't make them necessarily unattractive, but certainly of the "mind the baggage" type.

I have also dated accountants, managers, franchise owners, a gorgeous FX trader from Zamboanga (4 years ago on my first visit, though) and even professional models. Being completely stress-free, only preoccupied about when your next trip will be, what your next date will be and what workout to try at the local gym, does help immensely. Unfortunately, this is a luxury I can no longer afford. Quite the opposite. And believe me, working 14 hours a day without seeing the day when your business will finally post a profit, can be pretty depressing too. Especially when you see all the stress-free foreigners hanging out with the pretty girls while all you can do is check your Facebook for a couple of chat lines with girls you had 4 months before...
