Single mom tired of feeling grateful to husband

Post by Teal Lantern »

She's tired of people telling her how lucky she is and what a great guy he is.

I've had some great relationships with single moms since my divorce.

Despite that, I would never touch one now. Not because they are all promiscuous. They're not. But because they can't form a real lasting bond.

Her child comes first, her gf's come second, her career comes third, you come fourth. You are just there for sex, on her schedule, and as arm candy at every damn gathering.

Unless her child's father is dead, and you are now the dad, you are never fully in charge. You can't tell her kid what to do. You can sleep over, but you never have a real home.

Very limited authority, but all the responsibility (and future legal obligations) you're willing (i.e. foolish enough) to take on.

Oh, and if she co-habs with you, it's easier for her to have you thrown out of your own home than for you to toss her out. To protect teh chil'ren, of course.

There are plenty of reasons not to date one, in today's social & legal climate.
I wouldn't even take the P&D risk.

+1 I avoid all solo moms like the plague because of the above reasons. Also, I ask "What did she do so her first man left her?"
