I wanted to share with y'all some of the reasons why I believe we hate. I read a Stanford study into homophobia. In the test several men, some of whom were virulent homophobe, were exposed to sexually graphic images of a homoerotic nature. Interestingly the men who were most homophobic were shown to exhibit the highest levels of arousal
What can we deduce from the aforementioned study and the information gathered from the results? =^_^= if you were to ask me it shows a clear correlation between homophobic attitudes and closet homosexuality. The study reveals one of the reasons homophobes are so hateful towards homosexuals. The answer is repressed homosexuality!
Without reading the study, I think there is likely a huge selection error here. A selection error is one of those threats to validity Campbell and Stanley warned about in their work on research methodology. I believe it is in Campbell & Stanley 1963.
Think about it. The subset of the population they are dealing with is men who express disgust toward homosexuality.... who are also willing to sit there watching porn while some device or individual looks at their penis? There is also the subset just willing to look at porn in general while their penis is being measured or observed. With this set-up, you could easily end up with a group of subjects who do not adequately represent the overall population, so you can therefore not make valid statements about the overall population.
That doesn't mean that all men in general get erections more from watching gay porn than from non-gay men.
It could also be that those who do not fit in this 'homophobe' category as you call it, are less likely to watch porn or less likely to have masturbated or had sex a few hours earlier. You could have had a number of libertines who had just masturbated or had sex with someone a few hours before. Some of them might have still been in their refractory period, while the so-called 'homophobes' were less likely to be like that. The so-called 'homophobes' could have had higher testosterone also, than the other group. If people tend to yawn or scratch when they see others yawn or scratch, that doesn't mean they eroticize yawning or scratching. It may be that men tend to get erections if they see other men get them for some non-homosexual-reason, if that is the case.
But still we are talking with guys who didn't take the measurer off their junk or put their pants on and leave the room when they were shown porn, especially gay porn. It may be that men who express disdain for same-sex sexual behavior who are willing to sit around and watch gay porn are more likely to have suppressed homosexual tendencies.... but they were willing to subject themselves to gay porn. What normal guy would want that?
You also have to keep in mind that researchers have a kind of agenda... to see argue their hypothesis is true. On the homosexuality issue, some of them have a very LGBT-movement-influenced agenda, and they may interpret the data from that perspective.
So now we know homophobes are just homosexuals in the closet themselves. That explains the needless hatred

So would you say that homosexuals are more hateful people, and that these closeted homosexuals are therefore hateful people also?

I also read another study by a Jewish psychologist who said most racial hatred from white males to black males stems purely from dick envy.
this was the basis for the slave trade, which was predicated by white men who were jealous of black people's dicks. That's why they have fantasies about black bulls f***ing their wives. I suspect white people in Europe and the Americas looking for slaves hadn't developed a stereotype about black men having larger male parts. Your sexual proclivities are clearly influencing your interpretation of history. Some psychologists who complete their PhDs are sexual perverts or just plain warped in their thinking. Freud had some sex-focused theories like the Oedipus complex, which is gross and oversexualized for most people, so this type of warped thinking has been part of some psychologists training for a long time.
