Old people are impossible to talk to about dating.

I love my grandmother but the fact is she is impossible to talk to about matters I am passionate about. I said that women in Texas are stuck up and of course she resorted to the typical automated stock replies. "Well, you get what you are looking for. If you are looking for them to be stuck up then they will be stuck up" because as she said "everyone I know is happy". She is in her 80s and everyone she knows is around that age too. She doesn't have to deal with stuck up young people of either gender. Older people generally are nicer because most of them grew out of being mean to people ages ago. At some point you are too old to be mean to people.
And when I mentioned Costa Rica, she repeated the same line that they liked me because I am a ticket to America when in fact I found women in Costa Rica to have humility and happiness - two traits absent in American women with permanent scowls on their faces. I don't go places expecting women to be stuck up; that is what reality presents to me and the only way is to relocate somewhere where people have better attitudes. And my grandma likes to talk like it is 1955 and everyone wants to come to America when actually nobody in Costa Rica was desperate to leave their country.
Old people are impossible to talk to because they are too old and conservative to take new ideas or re-examine their viewpoints. It is like talking to a brick wall.

Same with my parents: They have no idea how bad it is out there...and how horrible women and society have become. Of course, back in their time, things were a lot different so it's hard for them to comprehend these things.
Society wasn't as effed-up as it is now. ...

In Shakespeare's play "Hamlet", an old guy named Polonius gives his son a lot of good, sound wise advice -- that is totally unnecessary. He is full of wisdom, but doesn't know when to shut up because it simply doesn't apply.
In his honor, such advice is sometimes called "Polonian" advice.
It is easy to find.
You are right about people over 50.
And a lot more categories, too. All females. Guys with good careers.
The only guys I have found supportive of going abroad are horny young guys.
No worries though. SOme time down the road, your over 50 uncle, your mom, and your grandmom will be wondering about coming to stay with you for a while.
Being right is lonely -- at first.

Good one...

Surprised though that you did not get more older and wiser advice from old addicted travelers. I'm certainly past 50 and usually horny as hell. Does that count?

That's good to know, especially after reading so many posts with warnings that my sex drive will plummet when I turn 50, so I have to find a woman ASAP.

You can make old people understand if you tell them about the degeneration of values in America. They will agree with that. They all agree that young people in America are into trashy stuff with no values. If you talk about that, they will understand.
Tell them that the girls in America are spoiled and have the worst attitude and the fakest personalities. Tell them to turn on the TV and they will see that. Show them the TV show "Sex and the City" and then a TV show from the 1960's and ask them to compare the women in them. Then they will see what you mean.
That's the real reason why foreign girls seem better in comparison, because American girls are the worst, so anything is better in comparison.
Tell them that foreign women are how women were during their era. Then they will be more understanding.
You gotta frame it in a way that they can relate.
That's what I do and they usually end up agreeing with me. But sometimes they will forget all about it later on, and then I have to explain it to them all over again. They just aren't that interested I guess.

Nope, they'll say "Oh, well, there's still SOME good girls out there! You just have to find them! America #1! Freedom!"
I tend to bring up the 50% divorce rate first thing and say I want to move to a place where I have better odds of keeping my family together. They'll still give that speech but won't be able to refute that.

Winston, I asked my grandmother what has changed that shouldn't have in the past 60 years...she said "the violence on TV". And that's it.

I totally agree - I rarely speak to people older than me! Of course that's because there are no people older than me
But seriously, while this might be a legitimate generalization, let me ask a question whose answer I already know: how many people have sought out Pete or Outwest (I won't even include me) for advise on how to find a great foreign woman? Very few. Is this because they are over 50 or because as men we hate relying on others.
You should be wary about seeking advise or discussing serious issues with anyone. But once you find someone trustworthy who has accomplished what you want to accomplish - it's foolish not to at least seek his opinion.

You are 100% correct.
I would bet money on it.

Perfect.
