The only thing stopping me from leaving is fear.
In February I got a job in a local massage place where I worked six days a week earning more than enough money to fly to Costa Rica. I have a lot of money saved over seven months but that alone doesn't make me happier as I am saving it for traveling. Massage therapy has been a fantastic livelihood but it would be even better as a tool to flirt with women abroad.
The only fear that I have is returning to a bad job market and being unemployed for a long period of time. A half of me wants to quit my job right now and buy a plane ticket to Costa Rica and the other half wants me to follow the cardinal rule of lining up another job before quitting. It feels like I am sitting on a winning lottery ticket yet not cashing it in. The only thing stopping me is fear veiled with pragmatism. The only reason I am staying in this job is to pad my resume and earn more money because it never hurts to have more money. It is just too hard to stop making money when I just want to enjoy it.

To save up money is never wrong, if you still feel unsecure, better continue to work and continue to save money. Feeling of fear should be taken seriously. About travel, better late than never. It does not make sense to travel while being worried to run out of money anytime and coming back being jobless with an empty banking account.

But where does it end? How much money in the bank is enough? See, I think it's good that you're saving up money- but I think you need a more specific goal. You need to decide what it is that you want. Relocation abroad? Find a foreign wife to bring back to the US? Several months a year abroad with periods earning money back in the US? One month a year with a killer vacation abroad where you can score with women? What you want will determine what you should do. But I think it's important to have a specific goal you're working towards, so that you know when to take it to the next level.Temprano26 wrote:In February I got a job in a local massage place where I worked six days a week earning more than enough money to fly to Costa Rica. But how late? I just want to be there by January.

My employer is from SYRIA and it is a local place that doesn't have a lot of massage therapists. I have built up a lot of good will there by working six days a week and getting him through a tough time earlier this year. That figures into my game plan pretty well.
