Evidently, there was at least one other Chinaman who got bumped. What are the chances of random bumping zeroing in on a race that is so few in number?

Maybe the random computer selection landed on the letter W. The chance of then getting a Wang or Wong or Wu is far higher than a Williams

Besides, if they got a Wardell White or Washington or a Weinberg they would have to pick the Wong or they would have a race case

Yes, I know. I was using the term Chinaman to refer to all members of the Mongoloid race, since that latter term is now so hopelessly infused with Down's Syndrome.

How about Asian, East Asian, or Oriental. Vietnamese aren't Chinamen.

Do you think that they figure that Asians will be docile or submissive to authority figures?

I read in some other article somewhere, maybe DailyMail - not sure - it is not done by random, but it is calculated by booking date and paid amount for the ticket. Cheapest ticket AND latest booking is the first on the list. Frequent flyer with high mileage will be given preference to stay on the plane, passenger without any history being a frequent customer will be first to be kicked out... etc.

There is something about 'how valuable is this passenger for the airline'.

Another criteria seems to be about when will the passenger come back in case of a return ticket.

My wife and I also were asked some years ago if we agree to fly the next day - totally overbooked flight from USA to Bangkok via Tokyo on Christmas Day.
We had anyway 4 weeks vacation and confirmed discount return tickets and we quickly agreed to get out, as they offered us as a couples about USD 500,- in cash, further a night in a very good hotel not far from airport (no need to return to Tokyo to our home from Narita), Christmas Dinner for free, breakfast next morning included, shuttle bus service airport/htel/airport was also OK. We left on another US airplane next morning only about 18 hours later.

They asked us as they said, as they got the impression, we are not in such a hurry unlike many other Japanese/US passengers who had only 1 week or even less holidays.

No, United Airlines didn't specifically target Asians. That's p.c. bull. Having said that, United and all other American airlines are terrible. I always fly an Asian or Middle Eastern air carrier whenever possible. Flying an American/Canadian or British air carrier is a guaranteed pain-in-the-ass, so why bother? Nasty, ugly old flight attendants, poor customer service, terrible food, etc. The list goes on an on. ...Most Anglo airlines suck--indicative of the collapse of those societies in terms of morals, culture, and race relations.

This is why I care not for those Asians who live in the 'racist' West. Are Asians discriminated in the West? Of course! But why move abroad in the first place then? Asians need to stay in Asia. Diversity doesn't work and has never worked in human history. I just find it funny when Asians complain about the racism when Asians treat Whites and Blacks with the same 'contempt' they have for 'us' when we're in a Western country.
