Size of crossbreeds

I was wondering what size people of mixed race generally turn out. It seems to me that the mixing of races often overrides any epigenetic phenomena keeping them relatively small, so they turn out bigger than you would think. For example, a couple of years ago I met a half Filipina half English female who was tall, big boned, about the size of her English father and vastly bigger than her Filipina mother. I wonder if this is a common occurrence.
