I am not quite sure. I think Kangarunner was directing his comment to Cornfed because Cornfed mentioned that the guy should have gone somewhere with no extradition treaty or that doesn't give into US demands.

Most people will take issue with such a comment if it is applied to someone who is a real P-word.

My comment was stating how the story had ambiguity and left of very important facts. Real news is supposed to be about facts. I don't think anyone capable of free thought, critical thinking, and a desire for truth or real facts would take issue with my comment. That is why my comment was stating it had a lot of ambiguity that needed clarification for me to give a real opinion.

I also disagree with Cornfed. The guy could have traveled anywhere but unless he had another passport then he would always be at risk of deportation even if there were no extradition treaty.

Also, to make another point, no extradition treaty doesn't guarantee no extradition. It only minimizes the probability of extradition to varying degrees depending on the crime, the person, and the bank account balance.
