Corny, maybe if you'd let an iconic pop culture moment convey the news you might have escaped criticism. Ginsburg was a cultural subversive of the first rank. Didn't she advocate lowering the age of consent to 12?

You’d wonder how anyone could possibly not be happy about the death of an evil pterodactyl-looking Jewish crone like Ginsburg, but I guess you have to factor in that 40% of ante bellum Jewish households owned slaves (as compared 0.8% of white households) so it is not surprising that Uncle Tom house negro types like CE are sycophantic to evil Jews. It is bred into them, just like greyhounds are bred to sprint and blue heelers are bred to herd sheep.Contrarian Expatriate wrote: ↑September 20th, 2020, 5:20 amYou created this thread to gloat about a person’s death and you think you’re not “cracking up?” Newsflash: You’re cooked in the head and you deserve the misery you live out each day.

Well today, I own the equivalent of the big house and the sprawling plantation. Please describe to us what you own other than an outdated porn collection? I distinctly remember that you are renting an apartment. You don't own anything, not even the home you angrily mope around in all day.Cornfed wrote: ↑September 21st, 2020, 6:09 pmYou’d wonder how anyone could possibly not be happy about the death of an evil pterodactyl-looking Jewish crone like Ginsburg, but I guess you have to factor in that 40% of ante bellum Jewish households owned slaves (as compared 0.8% of white households) so it is not surprising that Uncle Tom house negro types like CE are sycophantic to evil Jews. I would rather be dead than living your threadbare and sexually-deprived life. You're an unemployed, worthless, incel who periodically begs for business ideas on this forum like an aimless halfwit.

I thought the title of the thread was in poor taste. Even though Ginsburg's decisions promoted wickedness and the type of left wing feminism that promoted the type of social ills many on this forum gripe about, she was a human being and very accomplished in a lot of ways.Contrarian Expatriate wrote: ↑September 18th, 2020, 6:36 pmDo you have even a modicum of decency about you? I personally did not care for RBG’s jurisprudence nor her ideological posture, but she had a remarkable, storied life and she overcame more than you could fathom to live it out with such aplomb.
Trump better appoint someone good, fast. It would be foolish to wait until the end of the term. I was concerned when she died that Trump might try to use it to stir up people to vote for him and drag things out. He announced he was going to select a woman. At least women will still be a minority. It's a sad thing, though, when a nation has so many prominent women leaders instead of being led by men. I've read he favors Amy Coney Barrett, the prettiest of the female faces I saw proposed in the news earlier in the week. She worked with Scalia, which is a good sign. She may continue his conservative heritage. Like Scalia, she's Roman Catholic, but in her case a Charismatic Catholic, or so I've read. Some conservative Roman Catholics have good stands on social issues. If they wanted to truly diversify the court, they'd diversify in terms of religion instead of having so many Jews and Catholics. I think there is one Episcopalian (after Thomas converted to Catholicism.) That doesn't reflect the population at all. If they wanted to diversify in terms of religion, they'd need an evangelical. If they add more Jews, an orthodox Jew makes sense. If someone comes from a religion where they don't take their own religious law seriously, why would they take our national laws seriously.
Conservative judges generally try not to just make up junk from the bench like the liberal/progressive judges, too. We may see a graduate return to the rule of law in our legal system. Hopefully the new court will be a bit of an activist court in restoring the constitution.

Re: Ginsburg finally dies
When Ann Coulter reported this, I was no longer supporting Barrett. I think the pick will be Barbara Lagoa, a Judge of the Florida Supreme court and a die hard, Cuban conservative. This pick would be predicated in appealing to Latino voters, and independent females which should push Trump to victory in several key states. If the Democrats tried to sling mud at Lagoa, it would turn off Latinos AND undecided/independent women which plays right into Trumps hands.MrMan wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2020, 7:53 pmI thought the title of the thread was in poor taste. That's outrageous. She should recuse herself from being an American citizen and GTFO. This kind of thing goes to show why Catholics should never have been let into Anglo colony countries in the first place.

I was talking to a woman of Cuban heritage who said that Cubans aren't considered 'real' minority Hispanics. Most of them are middle class or well-to-do. A lot of the richer, educated families left Cuba. I am not sure of the opinion of other Latinos, though. If they like a Cuban on the court, that may go over well. Even if a Cuban doesn't do anything for other Hispanics, other Americans may perceive a Cuban appointment.
Speaking of Cubans, I was hoping he would appoint Ted Cruz. He was on one of Trump's lists. I know where Cruz stands on a lot of issues. He comes across as a little wooden and stern and a little low on likeability kind of like Bob Dole, but he is the kind of guy who could run for president again and become a compromise candidate that most people do not want who knocks the Republicans out of winning the election. But he would probably stay put if he were on the SCOTUS, and he's relatively young and could stick around a while. He's a Baptist, a large block of the population that has historically been underrepresented on the court.

That is very much not true, but I get what she is trying to express because my home base is in South Florida which is Cuban Central.MrMan wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2020, 8:18 pmI was talking to a woman of Cuban heritage who said that Cubans aren't considered 'real' minority Hispanics. There is a small, elite of wealthy Cubans who came to the USA early in the 1950s and 60s. They were they barons and the landowning aristocracy that was of largely Spanish stock. Many of them don't even appear or behave Latino. Think of the infamous Menendez Brothers whose father was a multimillionaire and they appeared like two white guys.
However, MOST Cubans are not middle class and well to do because most were escaping poverty in the Marielito Boatlift in the 1970s and afterwards. Cubans of that series of waves (most of them now) are working class with a few of the more talented ones being middle class. Senator Marco Rubio's father was a mere bartender but he made a great life for himself.
Also, South Florida Cubans tended to come from the better off sectors of Cuba, while the Union City, NJ Cubans came from the lower class portion of Cuba. These two communities historically don't relate well to each other.
So while Cubans, on average, tend to be more accomplished than other American Latinos, that is because the Cuban Elites tend to skew the income and wealth higher. There is a South Florida slur where rich Cubans are called "Jewbans" because of their similar clannishness and business savvy, but they also use that term for Cubans who are actual Jews.
This judge came from a modest Cuban family and she grew up in Hialeah, FL, a very working class and below city next to Miami. But kudos to her because she made a very accomplished life for herself. Not every person who makes it to the top came from privilege.
