It figures that since almost all real work is automated, the workforce would tend towards consisting entirely of rich tossers and their harems of filthy whores.

This. Though the odds are against making it to a comfortable lifestyle this way, the best option now is do what you like - hopefully love - on your own and hope you can eventually catch a windfall. If you never make a living at it, at least you will have loved what you did.

The trouble is that you generally can't make a living in business other than by servicing govCorp, since they have all the money, so starting your own business will not necessarily free you from discrimination. As for doing something you love, it may not be realistic to expect to make money from such an activity, or, if you do make money, to expect to keep loving whatever it is you do.

It's hard to opt out of the system especially with Obama care and you are right GOV holds all the keys to success today, I cannot take trying to work within it so opting out is probably the best thing as Ghost stated and find cheap things to do you enjoy while it lasts.

This cannot go on much longer and our rulers know this, why do you think they inevitably build a police state every where they go ?

I believe I will likely be able to find employment but it will either be minimum wage or if I'm lucky $14/hour. I guess that will be better than what I get now.

10% of Americans control nearly ALL of America's wealth. 1% controls over half of the country's wealth. That 10% is over 30 million people. That one percent is over 3 million. That's a lot of people to market to. Whole countries with fewer people still have successful businesses. You only need a few thousand loyal fans/customers to make a LOT of money in your business.
