The irony is when it was announced that Brazil would get the Olympic games instead of the USSA, jackass critics of the President complained that he had "failed" at getting the games.
They have no idea how lucky the city of Chicago is for not being selected.
Unless you are one of the people hired for contracting/construction work, all you get from these events is a higher tax bill and an eyesore to look at.
