Jeremy Paxman writes and presents an epic, booming landmark series about the British Empire, wondering why Britain, such a small country, became extraordinarily powerful, wielding influence over huge areas of the world.

In the first episode, Paxman dwells on India, where a mere 6,000 British officials ended up ruling 200 million people. Unsurprisingly, these weren’t entirely happy times. In Lucknow he visits the haunting ruins of the British Residency, site of a bloody Indian rebellion in 1857 that led to a siege resulting in the deaths of nearly 3,000 loyal Indians and British. Retribution was savage: mutineers were flogged, hanged, shot or branded.

Brits were just interested in money and more money, they enslaved many countries just for the sake of profit. Now when empire colapsed they started importing cheap labour from countries they once ruled, plus they also enslaved 90% of their own population for the sake of $$$.
English are masters when it comes to colonizing, they know how to select soft target, infiltrate,bribe, divide and conquor,

They're parts of the U.K. where you won't see a native white Englishmen for miles around; in fact, some English towns resemble third-world countries. That being said, I don't feel particularly sorry for the English, considering their past brutal colonial history and subjugation of countries overseas. They're deserve what they're getting now in many ways. Karma if you will...

In the mid-20th century the Soviet Union claimed to be the greatest empire on earth and tried to convince citizens they were lucky to be part of the socialist paradise, while in reality the average person living in the USSR had a shit quality of life while a few Jews sat comfy at the top in complete control.

The British Empire was pretty much a predecessor to this, it claimed England was the greatest nation on earth and its sheep-like citizens were fiercely patriotic. (And still are). But behind the facade, England was a feudalist society where the people had no upwards mobility. The average Englishman was born into a peasant-like existance, being less educated than other Europeans and not having things any better than the Chinese or Indians "his" empire was robbing from.

The British Empire was run by wealthy Jewish families who married (bought) their way into the nobility. And now those very same Jews are behind the mass 3rd-world immigration in Europe to undermine western nations (as they transition power to China) and to aid the ongoing white genocide (white populations are being replaced with Pakis).

It has nothing to do with karma.

No different than every other empire in the past 12,000 years. In fact, compared to what the Mongols and Chinese did and how many they killed, the British Empire was the height of gentile civility. Hell, the Spanish were ruthless. And the Italians, Germans and Spaniards who colonised Argentina killed EVERY SINGLE NATIVE in what is now Argentina. Not 'some' -all of 'em.

The British created and discovered most of the core devices that made the Industrial Revolution possible. That increased their wealth and productivity above and beyond others, and that always means that they then had the larger, stronger and more powerful military.

After that it was simply a matter of sailing off, defeating the locals, and forcing them to sign a treaty.
