My horrible review of Sanctum 3D by James Cameron

WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW!
Last week we went to see Sanctum 3D at the theater, thinking it would be an amazing 3D experience since James Cameron's name was on it.
But this film turned out to be nothing but a NEGATIVE experience, in EVERY WAY!
So why would someone of James Cameron's stature put his name to this film? What was he thinking or smoking?!
First, how can you enjoy any underwater scenes in 3D, when the whole point of it is about getting out of the caves? You can't enjoy something if you wanna get out of it. Duh! The basic premise of this film is totally BACKWARDS! Plus the characters acted like the caves were a terrible place where they were gonna die. So how can we enjoy the frickin caves when they are a symbol of death in this film? Sheesh! What's the whole point of this film, if everything in it is negative?! What is James Cameron's problem?
Second, none of the events in this film made any sense. How did the team at the top get washed down into the caves during the storm? It just happened and you can barely make out what even happened! And how did people keep dying for no reason? Their bones popped out of their skin often! How? What was the cause? Bones do not just pop out of skin without cause. Is James Cameron that dumb? Sheesh. In fact, none of the deaths in this film seemed necessary, not a single one.
The beginning scene where the woman's diving air tank suddenly broke reminded me of that stupid opening scene in "Cliffhanger" with Sylvester Stallone, when that girl hanging on a rope suddenly died cause the buckle on her rope suddenly snapped. Excuse me, but sturdy ropes and buckles used by professional climbers do not "suddenly snap" for no reason! They are not designed to. No one dies that way, especially not climbers. For something to happen, there must be a CAUSE. Duh! Filmmakers are f***ing stupid! My God. Professional ropes designed to keep climbers safe do not just snap for no reason! They are not yarn and those buckles are not cheap plastic. Duh! So stupid.
Near the end, the father, (predictably too) is unable to move or get up after having his back thrust against a rock behind him. How did that happen? He was strong during the whole film and then suddenly all his bones break just cause he got thrown against a wall? Again, totally nonsensical. Has James Cameron gone insane?
Also, near the end they finally reach a big cave with sunlight shining in from above. At that point, they finally had air and oxygen and could breathe. They could have just stayed there and waited for someone to pass by above. That's obvious. So why did they try to find another route deeper into the cave, and ended up trying to kill each other? And when they found that guy who betrayed them, why didn't they tell him about the room with the sunlight shining in? At least they could have gone there and recuperated.
The characters were horrible, annoying and argued senselessly. There was nothing positive about this film. Nothing interesting or good. What was the point of it? To piss people off?
And why put "From the creator of Titanic and Avatar" as the ad slogan for this film, to get people's hopes up, only to result in a huge let down? Most people on IMDB rated this film badly. This film was so bad and stressful to watch, that it seems that it was made to piss people off only. It is a total disgrace and shame to all involved.
Finally, I've been in caves before, and they are a wonderful experience. They make you feel like you're away from the rest of the world and have escaped into your own world. They are a positive experience. But this film turns it into a completely negative experience that is comparable to death. That is ridiculous and an insult to cave diving and spelunking, portraying adventure in a totally negative and gruesome light. It's like this film is telling you not to explore but just stay home and be safe with your stupid office job and live in fear of adventure. That's totally the wrong message.
