Saw
It might have reignited the so-called torture porn genre with its (mostly) truly disgusting sequels but - and this is a huge ‘but’ - the original Saw is nowhere near as gross-gusting as you think it is and happens to be brilliant horror.

I only Saw the first one. Thought it was not bad. At least I won't be forgetting it soon.
My friend says the second one is good but I'm on the fence about whether to continue.

Going with the same logic, all horror fans should see the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Not as gross as you think it is, just good solid tension and creepiness.

I agree, Texas Chainsaw Massacre was not very gory just a well paced, well made horror movie. The remake that came out in 2003 was also a very good horror movie.

Annabelle Creation came out a couple of years ago, it's a pretty scary horror film, here is the trailer for it.

This is a good horror film called, "Tombs of the Blind Dead" from 1972. In the 13th century there existed a legion of evil knights known as the Templars, who quested for eternal life by drinking human blood and committing sacrifices.

Executed for their unholy deeds, the Templars bodies were left out for the crows to peck out their eyes. Now, in modern day Portugal, a group of people stumble on the Templars abandoned monastery, reviving their rotting corpses to terrorize the land.

The Woman in Black (2012)

Synopsis

Arthur befriends Daily on the train and the man offers a ride to him to the Gifford Arms inn. Arthur has a cold reception and the owner of the inn tells that he did not receive the request of reservation and there is no available room. The next morning, Arthur meets solicitor Jerome who advises him to return to London. However, Arthur goes to the isolated manor and soon he finds that Eel Marsh House is haunted by the vengeful ghost of a woman dressed in black. He also learns that the woman lost her son, drowned in the marsh, and she seeks revenge, taking the children of the terrified locals.

This one looks good too. It's about a special ops military team that gets cursed for what they did and sent into a purgatory.

"Brotherhood of Satan" is one of the most underrated horror films of all times. Why it hasn't achieved a cult status is beyond me.This is a chilling tale of terror and witchcraft which contains one of the most powerful and disturbing climaxes in the annals of screen horror. In the small American town some children have disappeared and their parents been violently murdered. What is the cause of hysteria? The film is really eerie,some scenes are genuinely unnerving and definitely not easily forgotten. The suspense never lets up,the acting is really good, and the climax is bizarre and disturbing. Check out this forgotten gem of satanic horror.Absolutely recommended.

If you wanna see a really good scary exorcist movie done well, check out Exorcist III. It's pretty scary and better than the original I think. Some of the scenes are very chilling. It's a great psychological thriller too, not just a horror movie. Here's a video about it.
