Were the Native Americans as spiritual, peace loving, and harmonious with nature as the New Age movement portrays them? I think historians would say no. In reality they were greedy, selfish, and violent too, just like the white people were. So why does the New Age movement portray them as peaceful, spiritual, wise and harmonious? Obviously because that's what sells. People long for a golden age of spirituality, and they seek it in the past to try to reconnect with it, so that's what they want to see.

I'm not saying Native American spirituality doesn't exist of course. Of course it does. But that doesn't mean most Native Americans were spiritual. Probably only a small percentage were, just like a small percentage of whites are spiritual, but most aren't.

Also if you go to Native American lands today, like the Navajo Lands in Arizona, they are constantly trying to rip you off and overcharging for everything. If you stay in a hotel there, it will cost around $100, which is way too much to pay for a bed. Spiritual people don't do that. Only greedy money grubbing people do. The New Agers never consider this or account for it. Also, the ticket price to see the amazing Slot Canyons near Page, AZ is no longer $20 anymore. It's now around $100. That's a big jump from when I was there before. Very exorbitant. Furthermore, building casinos on Native American lands and profitting from them is obviously not spiritual either.

Yes Native Americans were not savages as the early Europeans portrayed, but they were not totally spiritual and wise either as modern New Agers portray. Most likely they are something in between, just like anything else, the truth is in the middle somewhere, not in extremes.

Do you honestly believe that the people who claimed this land would have allowed the fact that the original inhabitants were smart people who had an advanced civilization be known? It would have made the genocide unjustifiable. However, the facts remain that there were permanent settlements, cities, agriculture, civic and monumental architecture, major earthworks, and complex societal hierarchies. From southern Maine down to about the Carolinas, you would have seen pretty much the entire coastline lined with farms, cleared land, interior for many miles and densely populated villages generally rounded with wooden walls. And then in the Southeast, you would have seen these priestly chiefdoms, which were centered on these large mounds, thousands and thousands of them, which still exist. And then as you went further down, you would have come across what is often called the Aztec empire and maybe better known as the Triple Alliance because it was a group of three people, which was a very aggressive, expansionistic empire that had one of the world's largest cities as its capital, Tenutchtitlan, which is now Mexico City. These cities were bigger than either London or Paris.
Of course there were greedy people and violent ones. Every group of people around the world has it's undesirable elements. Does that mean ALL were that way? No more than one could say ALL the people were peaceful, or skilled craftsmen, or leaders. It takes all kinds. Just like any group of people anywhere.
I think there is a difference between what new age thinkers want to believe things (we did not have spirit guides and crystal use was rare) and reality, but there WERE advanced civilizations with copper workers (in Cahokia) and a vast network of trade and education.

Does anyone know if Native American girls are dating material? Do they date outside their race? Are they approachable? Any experiences? Since they are brown skinned, they should be more down to earth and easygoing right?

When I saw them on Navajolands, they seemed kind of cliquish and reserved. Not that open to outsiders.
