Bangkok Accomodation - Where to stay?

Post by Voice of Reason »

Going to Bangkok at the end of November for one month.

Anyone have any advice of where I can stay?

I know of two places. One is near Siam but it's 15k a month. There is another place in Ekkamai for 12k but the internet was terrible.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where to stay?

Here is my criteria:
- Less than 15k, preferably less than 12k
- Reliable internet
- Food and 7/11 nearby
- Gym nearby
- Less than 1k from a skyrail station

Thanks.

You're only staying for a month so you're asking for a lot. f**k, you'd almost be better off staying at some 400 baht a night guesthouse, seriously.

PM'd you details of where I am.

In general you'll find Wifi sucks in every hotel in Bangkok. Best thing is have a reserve connection by bringing your mobile and getting 3G for about 299 baht a month (but 3G here also sucks - and I had barely any 3G at all in Pattaya).

Welcome to Bangkok :)

PS Everywhere is near a 7-11!!!
I was Happier Abroad for a while but Covid killed that off.

Xiongmao - you never stop spewing the bullshit, do you? The internet doesn't suck in every hotel, that's pure rubbish. Also, the one thing I have absolutely no problem with is 3G. You expect perfection and when you get average, it sucks.

Thank you for all your suggestions.

But I've decided to stay in the same place before for 15,000 a month.

The internet there is very reliable (I stayed there for two months before and it was only down for one day), and everything I need is close by, and the room is very nice with a good view.

I'm using my time in BKK to launch a new internet business so I'm going to be be busy, which is why I made that criteria. I do not have time for slow connections, or to walk long distances for food and groceries. I'm prepared to pay more money for this.

Yes it has a website, but I'm not going to post it here because then people will know where I'm living.
