French-American considering Quebec

Hello everyone. I am a French-American (born in the USA to French parents) who grew up in a French-speaking household and so I speak both French and English fluently.

My whole life I have felt that despite the United States being a great country in many aspects, something has always felt off about personal relations. I have been to France many times and found that people there value friendships and personal relations far more than Americans do, who mainly seem to be worried about their work. In addition, French people don't have such massive complexes regarding sexuality and alcohol like the Americans do. I find it strange that I had to be a legal adult for three years before I was allowed to even touch alcohol, and yet in France I was allowed to drink wine with my meals as a child.

In many ways I have long felt like I should have been born and raised in France. That is why my username is ShouldHaveBeenFrench. I feel that if I had been born and raised in France I would have already been married with a family (I am 28 ). In the United States women prefer to be gamed and do not look for serious relationships. They worry about things which women in France don't care about, such as a man's height and car. They are also closed and do not like being met by men unless the man in question is a perfect specimen of a man who is tall, has money, a big penis, muscles, and acts hyper-masculine in a totally overbearing manner. American men to me are worse than American women. I cannot have a true friendship with an American man because all he cares about is showing his dominance in an obnoxious manner. For example, at my work one of my male coworkers always comes up to me with his arms crossed and a fake smile asking me stupid questions and upon answering them, he nearly shouts in an obnoxious used-car salesman voice that my answer is stupid and that his way of viewing things is the correct way.

I intend to look for women in foreign countries and I am wondering what people's opinions of Quebec are. I know English Canada is just as bad as the USA but what about Quebec? Since I speak fluent French (although with a French rather than Quebecois accent) I think meeting women there would be easy. I tried Mexico already since I live in Arizona but women there do not seem interested in meeting foreign men. The only Mexican women who were interested in dating me were single mothers with no other dating options. I even learned Spanish and spoke only Spanish to them but it was not enough. Therefore I am considering Quebec. France is out of the question since I have too many debts here in the USA and must remain here, so if Quebec works out I was considering a move to upstate New York where I have relatives.

If anyone has any experience with Quebec women I have a few questions:

1. Are they approachable?
2. Do they view men as "creeps" unless they stand 6'4" and have money?
3. Do they have a high obesity rate?
4. What are their views on sexuality? I do not care if they are virgin or not but I do not want a woman who has had more than maybe one or two sex partners.
5. Do they like dressing feminine with skirts, dresses, heels, etc or do they dress like American women with jeans, t-shirts, and sweat pants?

Hm. I say don't settle on the dream. If you can ever get those debts down then go for France. I've spoken to French women online before. Real great people. Lot of great films out of France too of course.

French Canadian women are about as feminine as a man with tits...the older they are, the more manly they look, seriously.

Now I don't want to generalize, there are some good looking ones (the escort types) but these women are into the same gansta crap as AW. Plus you will have to learn the accent, I've known French people that claim they don't understand Quebecers. They speak so loud and it sounds so obnoxious, you will wonder how could they butcher French language so bad.

On the upside, if you come to Montreal you won't feel lonely. There is quite a big community of French people and you'll most likely hook up with a French immigrant but don't expect much from French Canadian women. They are as materialistic as it gets, they're full of entitlement issues, they dress like crap, they have a fetish for disgusting tatoos and even the ugly ones get more attention than they deserve. Lastly, they're facebook/smartphone addicts.

J'ai voyage au Quebec durant le Juillet passee. Je me suis repose beaucoup grace aux femmes la qui sont plus simpatique et plus poli que les femmes Anglophones.

La ville de Quebec est meilleur que Montreal parce que on ne dois pas parler Francais a Montreal, pas de tout!

A l'autre cote, La ville de Quebec est pleine de femmes qui refusent de parler Anglais a cause de l'histoire et la nationalisme.

The Quebecoise were very happy that an American like me was speaking French, so if you are fluent you will do very well for yourself.

Women are far more approachable and friendly than American and English-speaking Canadians, so go enjoy yourself when the weather gets warm.

If you could state a little more about your experience in Mexico it would be MUCH appreciated - what age you were, status as a tourist/student/worker, how long you were there.

ABCDavid01 is completely right. Screw the debts and go where your soul will be nourished. Money comes to those who have made themselves happy.

And besides France and Quebec, there are Francophone places where you could look for work, like Geneva and St. Bart's.

I was in Quebec City many years ago, and based on my observations back in the day, I completely agree with ContrarianExpat. Women were beautiful, slender, very feminine, a bit shy, open to be approached and flirted with, but not aggressive themselves. I told one of my sons if he goes there, he won't want to come back.

Je suis tellement content de voir que certains d'entre vous aient si bien appris le Français

Pour le OP, je dirais que le gros problème que je vois, c'est que le Québec n'est pas du tout comme la France. J'ai l'habitude de dire que les Québécois sont essentiellement des Américains/Canadiens qui parlent français. Culturellement, côté comportement, c'est assez semblable, du moins.

To the OP, I'd say the biggest problem I can foresee, is that you seem under the impression that QC is just like France. Quite the contrary, I'm fond of saying Quebecers are just Americans/Canadians who happen to speak French. Behaviourally, there is not much difference.
Still, I'd rather live in Montreal than Toronto by a thousand points.
