I'm about to receive my graduate certificate in education within a year teaching science to students. Is it a good idea for me to consider teaching in an international school abroad? I am not talking about teaching English to natives who cannot speak English at all. I am talking about teaching science to children of expats living abroad in an English-language medium. As the US is slowly turning into shit, I might be considering living abroad for a change, raising a family there if I ever do get a wife.

Which countries are you thinking of going to? I currently teach science in an international section of a school in China, not the same as a true international school though so the pay and benefits are intermediate between what they would pay and the typical ESL job. I'd like to work in a true international school though. Science and maths teachers are in high demand.

I'm interested in China and Japan, but I'm also considering Thailand. Within China, I prefer Shanghai because most of my immediate relatives still live there, that includes aunts, uncles, cousins and distant relatives. It also helps because I am a native speaker of Shanghainese. Not sure which other countries I'm willing to consider, but preferably other Asian countries.

As for the type of science, I have a bachelors of science in biology.

You can make good money teaching in an international or semi-international school.
