We speak: Portugues, speak fluent English and basic German

Description: Small garden with caprine(goat) husbandry. Planted forest with harvesting of wood. fencing, pruning, some carpentry, brick work, stone work, landscaping. Whatever life tosses at us. 25 Hours labour per week, sometimes hard, in exchange for meals and sleeping quarters. Bring high top sneaks or boots, rubbber boots in rainy season, *** canvass backed leather gloves*** The Sitio is primarily geared for healthy , wise and community living experiences.

Accomodation: Please contact at least 2 weeks in advance of arrival to reserve a spot. max 2 or 3 Wwoofers per stay. Beds, sheets, nets provided. 1 of 2 houses available for volunteers. Laundry Sink available. We ask for 5 hrs work per day with freetime for personal upkeep and (recovery!) most woofers leave slimmer and trimmer.

Food: 90% vegetatian, can Accommodate vegetarian, lacto veg and vegan are out of luck, sorry. You will eat with the family (3 meals) and be required to help with the dishes once daily. Weekends we encourage wwoofers to fend for themselves or do extra chores. Kitchette avail in guest house. Potable water available
We are: We are a Canadian family of 5 living and loving in the beautiful Northeast of Brasil. Quite laid back and not at all professional farmers.
When to come: Prefer woofers Sept to April. May to Aug expect rain and prehaps woodworking or reno work.

Additional comments: We respect all cultures and people and expect the same. Be prepared for hot sweaty work, bring good gloves. We eat healthy and sleep early. Interesting. I've heard of WWOOFing before. Maybe it would be good for me. I could get exercise while living like people did in the 1800's, an era I feel attached to for some reason, perhaps past life.

But how much time do you get to do what you want, like go out and have fun try to get dates? Are the farms all far away from towns and cities? If so, you may be isolated with little social life except with the other workers on the farm.

Why are only organic farms offering this opportunity, and not mainstream farms?

Anyone try this before or know someone who has?

Sounds like a way to meet the village girls. Remember, in the old western movies the guy who rides in on horse and takes the hired hand job always get the rich farmers daughters
