Indigo Room in Downtown Fort Myers FL is a terrible place to bartend

It may look inviting, given it's location on Patio De Leon in Downtown Fort Myers just across from the Celsius club. But it is not a good place to work as a bartender at all. The boss there is very harsh and very greedy. He does not pay his employees and has a zero tolerance policy for taking time off, even if it is an emergency, and even if several months' notice is given. The average maximum a bartender lasts here is 7 weeks.

As a former Indigo patron myself, I have observed that the average length of time a bartender works at the Indigo Room is roughly 7 weeks. Some have lasted as little as 3 weeks there. And unfortunately, the same is said for the 86 room, Dash Nightclub, and Bootlegger's Alley, all of which are run and operated by the same boss. Even if it is for an emergency or something, if you have to take a day off, even one day off, the boss there will fire you at will and give your job to someone else. If you try and go back to work there, the boss will show you the pink slip and will not let you work. The boss there also does not pay his bartenders a single penny; every single dollar a bartender earns, regardless of how little it is, comes 100 percent from the tips given by customers.

The boss also quickly grows tired, for some reason, of seeing the same people, so even if you do your job perfectly, he will still fire you, generally after about 7 weeks of you working there, and he will hire someone else, whom he also keeps for a short time (about 7 weeks) before he fires and replaces that person, too.

And they always have signs taped on their doors saying that they are hiring. Bartenders, do not even apply for a bartending position at the Indigo Room, the 86 room, Bootlegger's Alley, or The Edge Nightclub. You will not last long there, and when the boss grows tired of seeing you, again, after his typical maximum of 7 weeks, he will fire you at will, and he will fire you without warning.

By contrast, bartenders have lasted as long as up to 7 years at most other bars! And there are plenty of other bars in Downtown Fort Myers to work at where you will last immensely far longer than 7 weeks.

It's time for a communist revolution, we all know they have a much better track record of treating their subjects with due process and respect....
