112 Saved by faith alone salvation verses

Post by Neo »

The Bible is clear that salvation is by faith alone in Jesus Christ!
1. Genesis 15:6: “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.”
2. Habakkuk 2:4: “Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”

3. Mark 1:15: “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” [Repent = change of mind, as God repented numerous times in the OT and God has no sin to turn away from.]
4. Mark 16:16: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” [He that believes is saved, baptism is a commandment.]
5. Luke 8:12: “Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.”

6. Luke 7:50: “And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
7. Luke 8:12: “Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.”

8. John 1:12: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
9. John 3:(14,)15: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.“
10. John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

11. John 3:18: “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

12. John 3:36: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 52. Romans 4:18-22: “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”

And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.”

John 6:47 KJV
[47] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Acts 16:30-31 KJV
[30] And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

1 John 5:13 KJV
[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Yes, that is all. Just believe in the Lord: that He is the Son of God and that He has done all the work to save you.

Most people know that Christ died for our sins, but what they always forget is just as important. That is that He also kept all the commandments of God. He fulfilled the entirety of the law. By completing all the commandments of God, He thereby overcame and conquered the commandments for everyone to be saved. He has overcome the law. All we must do is believe in Him! This is why salvation is not by works.

Romans 10:4 KJV For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Do you still think there must be some works? There aren't any. Salvation is outside the commandments:

Romans 3 KJV
[21] But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;[22] Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Salvation is by faith alone, outside of keeping the commandments:

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

It is the free gift of God to all those who believe in His Son:

Romans 6:23 KJV
[23] For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
[8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 3:24 KJV Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

All you must do is believe. Then you're saved from that moment.

Salvation can never be lost:

John 6:37 KJV
[37] All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John 10:28 KJV
[28] And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Ephesians 4:30 KJV
[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

I started in Matthew yesterday, and I’ve already found some verses that seem to hint at lordship salvation. I still believe we’re saved by faith alone, but I’m having trouble reconciling these verses.

Mat 3:10 - And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

I’m assuming the tree symbolizes a person and the fruit symbolizes works.

Mat 5:29 - And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Most commentators agree that “offend” means “cause to sin.”

Mat 5:44 - But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 - That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:

So if you don’t do those things, you can’t be God’s child?

The trees that are cut down or plucked up are the ones that God the Father has not planted. These are the children of the Wicked One. Their works are consistently and exceedingly wicked (workers of iniquity) and therefore they are rejected. Saved people, even if they do some bad things, are not nearly as wicked as the reprobate. These people do evil that most decent people could never conceive of, such as sabotaging or ruining innocent people's lives for no particular reason other than for fun or jealousy.

In other words, works cannot save a person, but God is always watching to see our works as a test of our heart and soul, but if a person has gone too far with their evil works (before they get saved, because a person can only be rejected from eternal salvation as an unsaved person), that person can be rejected and therefore will be unable to get saved, and then they are reserved to destruction.

There are certain people who have become workers of iniquity exceedingly (what is the point of rejection, no one knows). Those people who've had too much pleasure in wickedness will be rejected, see 2nd Thessalonians 2:10-12, Amos 8, 2 Peter 2. Book of Jude, Romans 1, Proverbs 1 (and the children of Eli the priest in the OT for an example).

It's a common misconception that everyone can get saved. It's not true. Many people are unable to get saved simply because they're way too wicked early in their lives. Then they will be unable to believe. God has to give each person the faith. Even faith itself is a gift, and some people are so evil He no longer wants fellowship with them.

Some people refuse to get saved because they know that eventually they will be reproved of their sins. They know that Christ will eventually demand that they stop whatever it is they are doing that they know is sinful, and some people are blinded by the love of their sin and don't want to stop. Eternal life is much more valuable than holding onto sin and iniquity. It's thousands or more times better than this life, and infinitely better than eternal destruction.

A person is still God's child because we're all God's children through faith in Christ. He's saying He wants everyone to be just like Him: like Father like son. Do the same things that He does and be like Him. Because God does good things even for His human enemies.

You know, Anderson is an absolute knucklehead on the flat earth issue. He's aggressively, name-callingly hostile toward it. Is someone so close-minded the right sort for being an evangelist? It certainly costs him my attention.

He's probably won thousands upon thousands of souls to Christ. I got saved by watching him on YT in February 2014.

I started in Matthew yesterday, and I’ve already found some verses that seem to hint at lordship salvation. I still believe we’re saved by faith alone, but I’m having trouble reconciling these verses.
Read Romans 3,4 and 5 and the Book of Galatians 2 and 3 as many times as you need until it's clear. It's explained in detail.

Here's some more proof that salvation absolutely cannot be by keeping the commandments (and these are just a few verses from these chapters that prove this, without listing all of them):

James 2:10 KJV For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

If salvation came by the law, or keeping the commandments, then there is no need for a Messiah. We could all just do it by keeping the law.

Galatians 3

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

Romans 3

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

[And this is why we need Christ, because our works will always be short of God's requirement. The whole purpose of the Savior is that we can be reconciled to God without works by faith]

Romans 4

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Romans 5

1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

[The offense is Adam's offense; the righteousness of One is Christ's perfection; It is Christ's obedience that makes us righteous. We simply must believe in Him for salvation.]

Romans 11:6 KJV And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. [If salvation is by grace then it cannot be by works; if salvation is by works then it is not by grace: because grace is free.]

8/5/19 1:40PM listening to Rush Limbaugh and he just said that all a person has to do to be saved is to "believe in Jesus and that's it." Interesting. I wonder if this will be uploaded somewhere so I can review it later. He's even talking about eternal life. And I wonder how many souls, if any, he just captured and won to Christ.

Rush Limbaugh explains salvation here at 1:01:00 to 1:02:00 (One hour and one minute mark).

Show: Monday, August 5.2019 61 minutes into program (1:40PM)

Open transcript / Quote:

They have tried to say that what you have to do to get to heaven is impossible: you have to live a perfect life, and you can't do that so that's a myth.

That's not what it [the Bible?] says. To get to heaven you believe in Jesus; seriously seriously believe and accept Jesus Christ.

That's cause nobody can live a sin free life. It's not possible [by] virtue of our creation it is impossible.

So that cannot be the test, but the left has come along and convinced non-believers and the ignorant that it is.

Now the left thinks that religion / organized religion is one of the biggest tricks ever played on humanity and they think it's a brilliant trick because it was used to keep societies and groups of
people in check.

This might only be up for 24 hrs before it is deleted by YT.

Believing that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ, to receive the free gift of eternal life, is in no way joining a cult. In fact, many saved individuals don't attend church. There is no brainwashing. There is only salvation.

In the Bible, false prophets are spoken of. These are the ravening wolves in sheep's clothing who are seeking to devour other people's lives, especially by leading them into a false gospel that doesn't save, or even leading them to death in some cases. Cults are formed by these false prophets, and it was even foreknown that because of them Christianity would be evil-spoken of. [Also, many false prophets will steal other men's wives, and others are homosexuals - this is opposed to Christianity.]

Christianity is not about forming some community in the wilderness of Guyana, and that isn't necessary. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that Christians need to remove themselves out of a community (except for if that city is about to be destroyed by God).

The first and main thing that Christianity is about is believing and accepting that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. That is the only thing a person has to do to be saved and to be a Christian. Everything else about Christianity is the keeping of the commandments. People are not commanded to live apart from civilization or to form a sect in the wilderness. And there are multiple warnings against false prophets and ravening wolves.
