Pictures of our house in Washington

Post by Winston »

If anyone's interested, here are pictures of our house in Washington, which is currently being rented out now.

Outside view of house with my white geo prizm car in front.

Image

The street in the neighborhood in front of us. It's the kind of quiet neighborhood where everyone minds their own business, goes home after work at 5 or 6pm and stays inside, and give passing smiles to strangers, but that's it.

The living room where we watch TV, and dining room in the background.

The big meditation and study room upstairs.

Me eating in the kitchen, all alone, dateless and sexless as usual in the US. lol

Quite a contrast from my life in Angeles City huh? lol

As you can see, all I can do there is basically enjoy a solitary life with solitary activities. Forget dating, hot girls, social life, fun, etc. And if I go out on the town, even at night, no one talks to me unless they work in customer service, and at best people only give me a passing fake smile. Pretty sad huh?

Now contrast that monastic life of mine in WA with my life abroad in Angeles City, which you can see at the link below! Can you imagine a greater difference or what? lol

It appears that these photos do not show up on IE, mostly only on Firefox. And even on Firefox, sometimes the image URL's change and so the image vanishes from the forum. Weird. I guess Picasa isn't supposed to allow you to do these kind of things, which sucks. I googled info on this but was given irrelevant links.

Anyhow, if you can't see all the images above, then just view them at this direct album link.

Nice house! It looks like you were stuck in "suburban hell." LOL :D I too live in the suburbs and it's mostly comprised of married people and children. Gee, what a great place to live if your trying to meet single women! I think a lot of people in America are in the same boat but just don't admit it! Instead, they might lie and say they have a great social life but they really don't. Your right, if you go out alone in the US by yourself, you will probably remain alone as Americans don't talk to strangers unless it's asking for directions or asking what time it is. If you do go out by yourself in the US, other people might think your a loser who has no friends to hang out with. There seems to be a stereo type in the US, if your by yourself on a Friday or Saturday night you must be a loser or a loner! Strange social condtions indeed.

Great summary and paraphrase as usual James Bond. Isn't my life in WA a huge contrast to this life in AC? http://www.happierabroad.com/phpBB2/vie ... php?t=4703

Do you think though, that the married couples who live in those US suburbs who have a nice house, a 9-5 job, etc. are happier than us? Do they ever have any regrets that they suffer silently about? If so, what are they? Interesting question huh?

I think a lot of married couples wish they could quit their job and travel and have more fun! A lot of them are bored shitless at their job and come home to watch tv and have little or no social life! Welcome to life in the United States! LOL :D

MatureDJ, a guy on my list, summed up the difference perfectly in two lines that say it all!

*** suburban Washington -> clean, organized, efficient, but PUSSYLESS.

*** Angeles City -> dirty, chaotic, but you are getting the most important thing a man needs. ;-)
