my dad having cancer

How do I deal with my dad having cancer? My problem isn't that I am feeling overly depressed or crying constantly. In fact, its the exact opposite. I've never been very close to my father because he always worked late and was out of state. Now he has cancer and I don't feel at all worried about him. Yes I hope that he is alright but I don't get very sad about his cancer and I haven't cried once. Am I a bad son for not caring enough? Is my reaction to his cancer normal?

If he was there for you in some fashion then just be with him before it gets too late. You might regret it if you dont.

@Original Poster of this thread:
If you go, then go, you don't you don't. Do what you heart tells you to do. Some people don't feel their father and/or their mother (i.e. that those type of people aren't fond of their parents).
My father is too much of a compulsive liar; his presence is even a lie - that's how much of a liar he is.
Who's to say that either me or the original poster would become regretful over it?
I'm good, really. If you're good, too, Mr. Original Poster, then don't go.

Make sure he takes a high dose of vitamin D.
