America's ideas speak to many people around the world. They may not be as popular in other rich countries, but they connect with most regular people globally. The "can-do" spirit, the positivity, the hard work, and the relative freedom—especially compared to countries like China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, Myanmar, Indonesia, or Saudi Arabia—are things that many people admire.

America stands for civil rights, human rights, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech. These freedoms may not be perfect or absolute, but they are stronger than in many other places. And for the average person around the world, these ideas matter. People want the chance to speak freely, believe what they want, and live with basic rights and dignity.

American culture also appeals more to everyday people than to elites. It gives hope to the "common man"—the feeling that if you work hard, you can move up in life. Many admire the strong character, confidence, and belief in second chances.

Then there's the military. America is often seen as the country to turn to for protection. It doesn't protect everyone, everywhere, all the time—but more often than most others, it does step in when needed.

America also has the biggest economy, a strong currency, and a focus on discipline, innovation, and opportunity. For many people, that means jobs, progress, and hope.

Of course, no country is perfect. But no other place gives as much hope or inspiration to the average "Joe Q. Earthling" as America does.

Countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, or Japan are great in their own ways. But their message doesn’t speak to the wider world in the same powerful way. They only offer opportunity and a cultural message to their own people, not to planet Earth.

Some say Americans are hateful. Yes, some are. But they are not the most hateful people. In fact, in many parts of the world where hate and cruelty are worse, America is still seen as generous, kind, and full of heart.

@ladislav Get some help. Everything you said above is bullshit. Look, the saying, "Every man for himself" is taken to a whole new level in the US. America is a casino where everyone's greedy fingers are reaching for whatever chips they can grab and then they fight each other and spill the chips. The richest country in the world does not provide their own citizens with access to public, affordable healthcare. Americans get cancer and die. The same person in Belgium for example, will survive because they provide healthcare for their citizens.

If you want a good life and to make more money and get education, go to Europe. Or Australia on the work holiday visa.

Lower income and middle class in America are basically indentured servants to the system. It's no way to live life struggling to pay for basic things like housing, transportation, food.

I wish that guy @WanderingProtagonist was still here. He can really expose the nastiness of America.

Just look at people in the eyes in America. Look into their eyes. Selfishness. Greed. Duplicitous. Judgmental Thinking. And the egos. Their KING SIZE Egos.

And no. It's not a good country. Vietnam is a good country. As long as one behaves properly, no one here will give you a hard time. In America, it's one hillbilly after another bullying you, heckling you, harassing you.

I empathize with all the nice, kind-hearted ones who have to live in America. I hope they get out and find a peaceful life somewhere else.

The US has vast land and vast natural resources. It inherited a strong system of law and governance from the British. The United States has historically been far from other strong world powers that could invade it. The US has generally had a friendly relationship with Canada since some decades after our war with Britain in 1812, and Canada is not that densely populated. Mexico has not risen to be a great military power, and it has historically had its own internal struggles. Europeans in the 1800s had to sail armies over here to attack us, and after our population grew and industry got developed, that made it hard for us to invade. Japan made a little pot shot attack on Pearl Harbor, and then the US really dove into industry building a war machine to take down Japan's empire all the way across the Pacific, along with taking down Hitler with our other allies in Europe.

The British were rich with gold with their world empire. They were getting hammered by the Nazis. We kept selling them ships and getting their gold. Then we made a deal with the 'free world' after the war where only our currency was convertable to gold. Our factories hadn't been leveled. We had a pretty huge population, lots of land, lots of resources under one national government, and a system where we kind of set a lot of the rules for the non-Communist nations, where we had a navy that would defend trade from piracy, and where we had a lot of the business institutions.

The British empire fell apart after WWII, or fell into a lose confederation, leaving the US as top dog.

And along the way, we had businessmen investing into film and entertainment. Our movies tended to have better special effects, a lot of money put into editing, developing 'stars', and our films and music became popular around the world.

I'd say some of the factors are internal stability-- from having a generally Christian based cultural background, in addition there is the British heritage of law and a strong governing system, reasonably well-organized bureaucracy compared to other countries, insulated from rival powers by two oceans, and various other issues related to history. We may have had some favor from God in the past to build this up. The US is generally generous to other nations, though it has experienced moral decline in a lot of areas, and I expect the country to lose world leadership over time do to moral decline and possibly internal issues that arise due to that.

Yesss....white people build great things don't we? It's white people that have the great scientists and inventors. And yet we're called racist the most. It's the blacks that call the White House the "White Supremacy House" and have no respect or honor for what white people have done to build America to be a superpower.

Really? What have you built for mankind?

I have noticed something though, nearly 90 percent of the gofundme e-beggars are usually white people, white people who fall off a mountain on holiday who went there without buying health insurance, tell me, sir, do you have health insurance if you get ill in 'nam?

100 percent of British gofundme twats and wankers are white.
