Is Nancy Pelosi Pretty?

I've got a friend who's a good bit older than me, in his '60's, who I met overseas. Back when Pelosi was speaker, he said something about Pelosi being pretty.

I didn't see it. She looked like an old woman to me. I said well, she looks like she might have been pretty. I had to think about what she might have looked and be prompted by his suggestion for the idea to occur to me. He thought she was still pretty. I looked up a young picture of her and she was good-looking. But now?

He also said that Melania Trump was the best-looking first lady ever. Usually, first ladies are old-looking anyway, so I could see that. But I said what about Jackie Kennedy, and he said no Melania. Looking at Jackie Kennedy, from some angles she's good-looking, but from others, maybe a bit odd looking. But Melania was kind of old when she became first lady, a nice-looking woman for her age.

My friend retired a few years back. I'm just wondering if seeing old women as good-looking is something that happens to men as they age. I remember when I was a teenager, seeing middle aged or older men with their middle aged or older wives, as the women started to get that stoutness that sometimes comes with middle age, painted up, wearing old lady perfume... then they'd kiss their wives or hug them or whatever. I just wondered how a man could find that attractive. Young thin women with pretty faces and form are pretty. Occasionally, you'd see a good-looking woman who was older but kept in shape and her looks hadn't wrinkled away. I can tell there are some women who 'look good for being old' who look old and therefore aren't that good-looking.

Before I went off to Asia, or returned for another stint there, my grandmother once said one thing about Asian women is they look good when they are young, but she'd never seen a good-looking old Asian woman. I almost responded I'd never seen a good-looking old white woman, but my grandmother was an old white woman, so I kept my mouth shut. She used to be good-looking, too. I saw the pictures before my earliest memories of her in middle age, when she looked like a grandmother to me.

Maybe my sensitivity to age has gone away a bit. My wife is a pretty woman whose holding onto her looks pretty well and is still thin. She looks a bit more matronly now than when I met her decades ago, of course.

I'm wondering if when I get 60 or 65, am I going to develop some perception that sees women that look like Nancy Pelosi as good-looking.

On the other hand, I read once that if you survey women about the most attractive man in a bunch of photos, they choose one who looks their age or older. If you ask men the same question as they age, the woman they choose is a good-looking one in her 20's.

Maybe old men who think Pelosi is good-looking thought some old-looking women were good-looking when they were young. Or maybe some men see some old-looking women as good-looking as they age and others don't.

What about you guys, do you think Pelosi is good-looking? Good-looking for an old woman? Do you have to see her younger photo to see that she was good-looking.

I do not think that this woman is or ever was good looking, regardless the date her pictures were taken.
The oldest picture I found on the internet of her was taken 1961 (still black/white picture) and she was 21 years old.
And still I cannot say that she is looking attractive - at least not for me.

I think the pictures there are an example of cherry picking, using good-looking right-wing TV personalities to fill up a lot of those boxes. AOC has crazy ideas, but she's a lot better looking than most of those pictures on the right, which ironically represent those on the ideological left.

I don't see the pretty there on Nancy Pelosi. I don't think I'll find old women attractive when I'm old. I'll be eased into my wife's looks, seeing her every day.

In that picture with KFK, a young Pelosi did look pretty. She was reasonably good-looking when she was young. Now... I don't see it. But she is very, very old now.
