America was always a nation of theft, poaching, and political corruption. America stole/poached people from Africa in the 19th Century, stole them from their families, crammed them on slave ships, and brought them to the United States to work as slaves. Practically none of the slaves ever saw their families in Africa ever again. The slaves broke their backs working in both burning heat and freezing cold and earned not a single penny for their work. Slavery was horrible and gruelling. Slave masters often didn't care if it was 110 degrees under a burning sun with a 200 degree heat index, they whipped their slaves to work and slaves got little to no water. Slave masters didn't care if it was 25 degrees with snow, they made their slaves work with inadequate clothing that provided little to no protection from the cold.
Even the USA has a history, all the way up until about the 1970s, of institutionalizing and imprisoning all persons with disabilities. In the old days, if you were found to have autism, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, or if you even got into an accident at work that left you paralyzed and needing a wheelchair, they slapped the shackles on you and they locked you up like a caught serial killer and they put away the key.
Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, and yet America attacked Iraq just to seize their oil and jack oil prices up. And then-president George W Bush (Republican) got his laugh when, in July 2008, oil prices topped $120 a barrel and gas prices topped $4 a gallon.
Greed and immaturity in the USA has about gotten to the point where in fact revealing certain laws to the public that the authorities love to keep secret, such as laws against men approaching women and asking them out, will in fact get a person arrested and charged with treason and theft, all because American prisons are commercialized as sources of income for Federal, state, and local/county governments.
America never was a "great" country at all.

many countries have skeletons in their closets. I dont deny your points at all, but realistically speaking its not like america is 100% bad either
Re: America never was a "great" country at all.
I agree with your comment, USA is not the worst country in this world.
USA has however some problems which are unique for a first world country, questioning the status if it is really a first world country at all - like missing a basic health insurance for all its citizens, a huge prison population, a complicated legal system with laws different from state to state, following its citizens around the world for income tax reports, weak unions to protect workers against misuse especially those in service related jobs working only for tips, serious race-related issues, plenty of homeless around in various cities etc.....
USA is not the paradise of this world for sure, but by far also not the worst country - generally it is considered to be somewhere ranking between 20th to 30th out of about 200 countries worldwide.
USA passport/citizenship is considered to be fairly good - you can travel easily outside of USA, and the US-dollar still has a value and is widely accepted in most countries.
