Rather than walk back feminism, which arguably is impossible, I'd like to see us follow it through to its logical conclusion -- gender equality. The problem with feminism the way we practice it is that we aren't applying the principles consistently. Why do we still have in the US a military draft targeting males? That's gender discrimination of the highest order.
There's that scene in Lonesome Dove when Gus gets hit with an arrow in his leg after a skirmish with (American) Indians. Unable to pull it out he says, "I guess I better push this arrow on through." That's what we have to do. Push the arrow on through. Because we ain't never gonna pull it out.
