Visa and Mastercard Ban Russia

Post by Tsar »

Visa and Mastercard just banned all Russians from using their cards outside Russia and it banned all foreigners from using their non-Russian issued cards inside Russia.

I was really expecting that as an outcome especially since they did similar things to other nations in the past but almost never on this sort of scale, except, this is sort of all "corporate policy" because corporations can act like little nations now that they have such great control over the world.

Looks like it's not going to be possible to easily go to Russia without having large stacks of cash.

Hopefully China creates some sort of backdoor for people. But there's always cryptocurrency which can act as a backdoor. I imagine Russians would see cryptocurrency as a safer alternative to dollars, Euros, and other foreign currencies which can be frozen.

Anyway, this just confirmed that my thoughts were correct. Instead of just all North Americans and Europeans being shut out of Russia, it's now going to be most people in the world. This means no Arabs, no Turks, and no other people going into Russia to easily obtain Russian girls. This will impact foreign students studying at Russian universities.

This means getting a Russian girl should be even easier in a few years than in the 1990s after the Soviet Collapse.

Hopefully China creates an anti-Visa, anti-Mastercard payment alternative that can be used in Russia and other areas of Eastern Europe like Belarus and Central Asia, open to foreigners. Maybe they already have something like that but it probably isn't popular. The Chinese are really smart, clever, pragmatic, and intelligent in business. They will definitely create some new payment processor that will be used in Russia and China, and other places, and maybe try to sell it to foreigners by using a subsidiary in Hong Kong.

Anyway, since I am not really going to Russia anytime in the next 2 years, I wouldn't really need to worry about that Visa and Mastercard ban. But it's more confirmation this entire event is going as I expected it would.

I was thinking about how this would go down since 2014. It's almost entirely how I thought it might, except the EU's total compliance and how many people in the West are stupid enough to believe it was "unprovoked" when anyone with a real brain knows the US and NATO provoked the war.
