Like prisons, mental institutions also even have razor-wire fences, and a few may even be surrounded by electric fencing, too. And like prisons, most mental institutions have a shower room with no privacy. Inmates are forbidden from making phone calls from a mental institution. Access to the Internet, including Facebook, is strictly forbidden and there are no computers that can be accessed. Like in the Federal supermax penitentiary, inmates of mental institutions are cut off from the outside world and isolated from all social support.
