I have a theory about all this. Perhaps the reason there is more government control in China and Russia is because people in those countries are more uninhibited and socially free. Hence they have to be controlled more for a centralized economy to function. However, countries like America and Taiwan already condition people to be workaholic, strict and uptight so they will work efficiently without the need for government control. In other words, if you are already doing what's best for the economy and mechanized industrialized society, then you don't need to be controlled as much.

If you think about it, it makes sense and adds up. After all, in workaholic countries like America, Taiwan and Japan, people don't talk to strangers unless it's business related. And the only strangers that smile and greet you are customer service people and cashiers, but only cause its their job of course. All this speaks volumes. It's as if everything must be business orientated, including social interaction. This reflects a narrow one dimensional "all business" mentality. With such a mindset, why would the government need to take away anyone's political freedoms, since they are already serving the interests of the elite oligarchy and corporatoracy?

Another possibility is that too much government control results in people "letting loose" by becoming more uninhibited and socially open and free, like you see in Russia and China. Or perhaps the truth is a combination of both explanations.

Of course another aspect is that less developed countries with a larger peasant class are more socially interdependent for their survival, hence they have a lot more social connection and camaraderie. With higher income and economic development comes independence, isolation and social disconnection, which is what you see in more developed first world countries. This pattern is definitely there. So perhaps there are at least three aspects to this.

You are all over the shop with your observations, first you claim that there is no freedom in US as american government is opresive and controling now you saying rusian and chinese are more controling due to centralized economies.
Conclusion is all governments are controling its own people and western countries are more free than others.

Chinese people are most uptight people I have seen, antisocial, their greed has no boundaries, its all about $$ And more $$$.
They look like people who never have fun in life, work 18 hrs a day,eat rice and go home play video games.
Chinese women are the MOST materialistic women on this planet that means Winston you will only succeed with them if you pay for it.

China and Russia have only recently become capitalistic. They weren't like that before and still have a communistic collectivist mentality. I'm not talking about their culture and people, not economic system.

Rock recently had his gallstones removed in China. He said that in the hospital waiting room, everyone talked to him and made conversation, and didn't just keep to themselves like they would in USA and Taiwan.

Russia and China are controlling in ways that the USA is not. For example China requires you to register everywhere you go. And Russia requires you to register your first place you stay at. But there are many things you can get away with in Russia and China that you can't in the USA. So the control is selective.

Dude you have no experience in Russia and China so you are just going by media propaganda and talking out of your ass.

Yeah true. But China people talk to strangers more freely than in Taiwan and America. And women are more friendly, positive and sociable with men. Many of our forum members can confirm this from firsthand experience, such as Zboy1, Falcon, Rock, the adventurer, Ghost, Bao3niang, henry king from our Facebook group, etc.

Again you have no basis and experience and you need to listen to real life people with real life experience. Stop making unsupported statements.

They still are more authentic in their interaction towards you, at least when it's not business related i guess. Unlike this side of the pond (north and southamerica) where people may have second or third-intentions or presumptuousness.

No they do not have a free open market economy, The Gods of Money written by William Engdahl explains how there never has been any free and open markets in the last 500 years for any long period. America tried to establish this but was quickly over taken by England again by their monetary shenanigans.

It appears Russia may be trying to take their ability back to coin money so they can establish a honest system to facilitate trade. The current world wide money system is the money supply of fascist command economies not free markets. Our rulers are very astute con artist.

What makes the whole thing go is people do not educate themselves and they figured this long ago, the point is you cannot have a free market economy because you have to be educated to make it work. That is why dictatorships have had a much longer run throughout history.

They are attempting to program the dumb herd that their world wide dictatorship they are erecting around us are free and open market economies. These people are really smart who are doing this.

I had written this earlier. Even though I'm from India...The so called "Largest Democracy of Earth"...When I went to China..I felt the most free....

Now, that I have been in Germany....Chinese are far more friendlier....One just need to go to Macau to see, how Chinese roll...They are very engaging, social people...In German Casino...No one talks and seem Happy...In Macau...Chinese are Happy even when they loose...

Winston...If you going to Hong Kong...You must visit Macau and see the full glory of China....Its like only 30 min ferry ride away...plus it has great Sauna's for massage

Also, visit Lisboa Race track ....I don't think any government in America would allow this...even in Vegas...

Talking about being free as American's associate Vegas as being free...As you are from Vegas...If you visit Macau ...you will see the gigantic grand canyon difference between being free in America and being free in China.

So hey winston, what part of China are you going to? You haven't seem to ask people on the board yet what the good places are.

I'd have to agree and say that although Chinese in developed areas (not mainland China) are very worker drone like, that Mainland is just simply another world.

You can't really understand what it's like until you have gone. The culture, lifestyle and daily activities of the people are very different, which is why we've been trying to get winston to go.

But alas, it will only be a matter of time before he starts complaining about the industrial sludge they put into the food, the overcrowding, etc
