If you're not into bars/clubs, what do you do for fun?
If you're not into bars/clubs, what do you do for fun?
So here's my question....there have been several threads recently about how bars/clubs suck. I totally agree! I go occasionally but prefer to avoid them as much as I can. But then what do you do in the evening for fun? And I don't mean by yourself, I mean what do you do for fun with friends? Or on a date? This question has bothered me for a while. Often times, it seems like there's not much to do except go to bars, particularly after 9 or 10 pm.

Two gf's ago, I used to go out to high-end cultural events in our ethnic community. Ballet, concerts, and lots and lots of dances at fundraisers, weddings, anniversaries... Charming people, fun people, the best of our race. I generally didn't understand a word, but OH. did we dress well
Three gf's ago, I used to take her out on dates to fine-dining restaurants. She was beautiful, young, and spoiled, and I had to be creative with each choice of venue. Ah, but she was worth it. Call me 'Beta" if you like, but I enjoyed working for it.
Running theme here: You need a woman to have fun.
Wrong, I know.

"Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
How about going to the beach, drive in movie (more romantic and intimate with girl), for a walk, stay at home and play board games, going to a late night diner, going to a lounge, etc.

two completely different experiences; the beach in the day & at night, picnics at parks, live theater, night strolls in the city, long drives to somewhere & nowhere, road trips, hiking, fishing, I like cooking/ bar-b-ques outside; in the backyard, while camping or at the beach or the river, boat rides off the islands at night .... it all depends on where you live / what country etc. ... I don't get to do most of these here in turkey but this is what my regular life was like home in trinidad

I go to dinner and we talk...this is either with male friends or my dates.
There is nothing more fun outside of the obvious than dinner and talking with each other. If you do not know how to have a great time just talking with someone else you have not learned the art of conversation.
My fav#3 could not talk english and my german is only rudimentary...and even then she would say she has never enjoyed dinner and talking with anyone else like with me. If you are good at conversation you do not need any other "fun".
