What happened to the whole political correctness concept?

Ok.. Here's what's been bothering me for a couple of months now. I watch american TV here and there just out of boredom, and I've noticed how they always like to talk negatively about foreigners and/or judge and generalize the whole nations. This is totally absurd. I've lived in 5 different countries and I ain't never seen nothing like this on TV ever.
Here's what happened yesterday. I was watching I Just Want My Pants Back, an MTV series, season 1 episode 5/6 together. It is a new MTV show about a group of youngsters, trying to juggle sex, love, career and friendship out of college. This, of course, never happens like that in real life. Most college graduates in the US are broke, unemployed/lookin' for a menial job way below skill level and about to move back in with parents. Mkay.
So I was watching those two episodes and here's what was said and what happened:
~A chick spots her male friend with a French girl. After exchanging a couple of phrases, she talks to the guy one on one and tells him that she has body odor and that's why she figured she was French. After that it is revealed that the French girl had stolen her 'least favorite scarf' or some shit during this encounter.
~Later on that same girl is having a meeting with her Mom, after being evicted from her place. She's basically seeing her to get some money. Her mom sees her wearing a black bra up under her white shirt and berates her, saying that 'only hookers and French-Canadians wear it like that'. I was like wow. What the f**k is your guys's problem?
~Later in the episode, two guys are sitting in the park and one guy is telling the other one how his female boss has been banging him and paying him extra for it. After which, he makes a comment to the effect of 'I'm not like one of those Russian sex-slaves that have to sleep with a Wall Street dude every night'. This comment disgusted me a bit. It's not like he really had to say that right then and there. He just went out of his way to insult a whole ethnic group. Wtf?
So what exactly happened to the whole notion of not judging others or not using offensive language to some people? Why is that being ignored? It seems to me like it's only the jews and the blacks that you're not supposed to talk bad about. What a double standard indeed!
That show is basically about a couple of punkass youngass new-yawkers judging and berating everything and everybody in the whole wide world. In what other country would such a show ever be broadcasted on TV? I would really like them to start showing it in other countries. I mean you gotta be stupid not to realize how morally corrupt and depraved those people are. Frankly, the sad thing is that the whole wide world is basically trying to emulate America and everything American. You can clearly see that if you just watch some of the European/Canadian shows. This is f***ing sickening.
