I would agree with the above statement. Sometimes all you need is the massive bronze face to know what ropes to pull. Pulling in your own conniving family and friends sometimes helps. Bill Gates would have achieved nothing without his father, a well-known Washington lobbyist who helped him brokering his first few government deals. Berlusconi would have achieved nothing without his father, a middle manager at a small Milan bank which happened to be the Sicilian Mafia money laundering hub.

This goes to show the folly of thinking members of the elite can represent us. Even if they weren't the filthy scum of the earth and didn't hate us, they live in a completely different world. You can't expect someone who can openly steal tens of millions of dollars without even being thought badly of to empathize with us plebs dreaming of our own little place in the country, wanting to be able to earn a living as a tradesman, working out techniques to assemble widgets a little faster so we can get full time hours or whatever. It would be like us trying to empathize with fish in the ocean.
