Is the Government Spamming the Forum?

All the spam posts are easy to spot. It should be easy for software to block them, or at least for mods to delete them faster than is occurring.

The common elements of the spam posts are:
1.Title is always a noun phrase consisting of two or three works.
2.Title contains vaguely porn-related terms related to age, viewing etc.
3.Poster name is an English Christian name, followed by random letters and then random numbers.

Couldn’t someone write a script to automatically delete posts like that and ban the poster?

There is 69 at the end a good number of times. 69 is used to describe a sexual act.

Jesus, so much spam on the forum.

Actually my own forum has the same problem this week - it got so bad in fact that my Hostgator account got suspended - oops. I can't be bothered with it so I took the forum down permanently . If I was a PHP expert I would have waded in and come up with a solution but .NET is more my thing.

The absolute best thing is to have a custom built forum without the usual signatures of popular things like phpBB or Wordpress.

Anyway Winston if you're listening check out stopforumspam or one of the related services as the few IP addresses I investigated on my forum were "known" to the anti-spam clearing houses.
