The more feminist, westernized, economically developed a country, the more selfish, individualistic, materialistic, egoistic the country's people become and the more looks and money will matter for a man, as extreme hypergamy overrides familial and communal values.

Life is not black and white, there are women in every country who will overemphasize looks and money, but it's a matter of degree of prevalence. Because of the warped broken individualistic and materialistic, 'sex in the city' values of developed western and developed North east asian societies, this mentality is more prevalent in countries like the U.S. and Japan.

And in any case, these are often women who would make horrible long term partners and with whom the propensity to divorce is much higher.

If it were so simple as to be able to say simply that all women only value looks and money, and since there is a higher proportion of rich men in developed countries, then why are marriage rates much higher, average marriage ages lower and divorce rates lower in less developed countries?

For instance in China the rate of singlehood and average marriage ages are actually much lower than in developed Asian countries like Japan, Taiwan, Singapore. Consider that the average Singaporean or Japanese man makes 5-6 times what the average Chinese man makes. Yet marriage rates are much higher in China than Japan. Many Chinese men making less than 800 USD a month are getting married every year.

For this to be happening, it must be the case that in general, obsession with money, materialism, looks, status consciousness and obsessive egoism is less prevalent in China than in Japan or the USA. Hypergamy is more extreme in Japan and USA, where many women look at men only as atm machines with a dick. This is not to say that there aren't some Chinese women who are extremely materialistic, wealth obsessed and status conscious, especially in Shanghai, but as I said it's a matter of degree of prevalence. I've seen many good Chinese women in China, a far higher proportion than in countries like USA. The 'sicker' a country, the more 'sick' people there will be.

Looks and wealth matter to a degree wherever you go, but it's in especially materialistic, individualistic countries corrupted with 'sex in the city' values where they matter to such an extent that men are being oppressed. For instance what used to be a 60/40 rule could now be a 95/5 rule, where 5% of men can get 95% of the women, and most of the women have become horrible long term partners because they are so selfish and warped. More extreme hypergamy and less good women (due to social degradation) is definitely a deterioration, compared both to the past and less 'sick' countries.

If it was just all the same everywhere by default and no one country was ever worse off than another, then no man would have any reason to have any beef with feminism or 'sex in the city' values at all, because if it were all this bad by default from the start, then 'sex in the city values' would not have made any difference, but this is simply not the case. Even comparative studies in the world between for instance marriage rates, divorce rates, marriage ages and single-hood in China and Japan show that not all countries are the same in terms of the situation with women.

I spent a lot of my life with some type of fractured self-esteem and believing that I am not good looking. Turns out I was wrong. I actually worked before as a male model. A girlfriend from a few years ago actually had the nerve to tell me "You know I'm just so physically attracted to you because of your looks, but that's all there is, so I am breaking up with you". I made a profile once on Hot Or Not and my popularity soared. People have even recently told me I should have gone into film / acting. And yet I'm posting on this forum, why?
