Correlation between teen pregnancy rate and dating scene?

Post by mattyman »

Hi all, was just wondering whether there's a high correlation between a country's teenage pregnancy rates and some of the 'anglo-women' complaints talked-about here. I know that the USA has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in the world, whilst the UK has the highest in western Europe.

For things such as slut culture, bad-boyism, lack of choices apart form single-mums no the dating scene, and various other things complained about on this forum; do you think that teenage pregnancy rates, and illigitimacy rates are reliable indicators to how these factors will affect the dating scene, of countries or cities?

As far as choices being limited to single mums goes, that's a common complaint with both the US and UK dating scenes. Within the UK it's especially acute among the 'chav' sections of society.

I think most NGO stats on teen pregnancies lump married women together with never-married girls.

So the stats are useless in terms of measuring "morality".

Plus if they wanted to measure "morality" they would need to have a third category, "pregnant by a man she is currently engaged to".

I would lump that one in with "married teen moms" to come up with a total "moral/intact family with teen mom" figure, then compare that to the "true unwed teen, not with her baby daddy" figure.

Let me know if you come up with such, I'd be interested.

In the meantime, the only use I can see for the teen mom stats, is to tell you at what age girls become sexually active and are taken off the first-time-bride market, so that you can know how young you have to date in order to find single, unattached women. Obviously this would work best in Catholic and Mohammedan countries, where baby-killing is not widely practiced.
"Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
