I get skeptical when people us terms like "happiness." No one is eternally happy. Life is about all feelings like fear, anger, surprise, dismay, and also happiness.
Most of us want to leave the source of our misery, the USA. While abroad, I live like a king but there are frustrations, setbacks, inconveniences, and problems to deal with here too. However, I have a greater sense of personal fulfillment overseas than I ever would in the USA so I stay over here.
"Happiness" is an elusive concept that women like to throw about not realizing that no one in the world lives in bliss all the time. For those lucky enough to be happy at the moment, give it time and some personal crisis will come as predictably as the setting sun.
Why do I say all this, to temper expectations. Don't go overseas to be happy, go to leave an intolerable society like the USA.

Contrary to the Contrarian, I believe you can find true happiness abroad. Of course, there will always be something to deal with, That is life, but LIFE can be truly happy. I found it. I think anyone can find it, and that they should go wherever is necessary to find it.
I think a big part of happiness, for me, is found in FREEDOM. I no longer have to work for anyone but myself. That is a huge ingredient in complete happiness, even during so called hard times. Also experience makes a difference. Crises come and go, but when you've been through enough, you already know what waits on the other side and it needn't diminish your happiness any more than any task that needs completing.

It is true that no one will be in a perpertual state of happiness but people can find true happiness. It's just not common.
Will people always have regrets, have something that gets them down, or be sad? Yes
Will having a beautiful wife there to comfort them and cheer them up bring happiness? Yes
Can money provide ease the stress and minimize fear and anxiety? Yes
Having a wife or girlfriend will definitely be finding happiness. Feeling down, she can raise your spirits. Make you a meal, spend time with you, be there for support, or anything else. Some men have even greater happiness having more than one wife because it's increases their moral support.
I plan on going abroad for both reasons. To find happiness with a beautiful girl and to leave the intolerable (insane and toxic) America.

Of course many people claim to be happier abroad. But happiness is a subjective elusive term. No one can be perpetually happy. Life is a cycle of ups and downs. We all have issues and inner struggles. If you were always fulfilled, you'd never do anything. Life is meant to be in a perpetual state of dissatisfaction where you are constantly striving for something.
Although happiness is subjective, nearly everyone here can tell you that their experiences dating abroad have been much BETTER than dating back at home. There are countless accounts of that here. So the point is, yes some things are BETTER ABROAD. But as to whether that makes you happy or not is a personal and subjective thing.
Happiness seems to be determined by the following things:
- The difference between what you want and what you have, and how great it is. The less difference, the happier you will be.
- Your inner attitude and state of mind.
- How well you can control your positive emotions vs. your negative ones.
- Having good quality friends who accept you and energize you.
- Having someone you love who loves you back, with the least amount of arguments or conflicts.
- Doing something you love that allows you to follow your heart.
- Your tolerance level and how easily annoyed you get by negative things around you.
- Whether or not you are in a culture and environment that fits your personality and needs.
