Marriage advice from a Buddhist master

Post by Jackal »

Nagarjuna was an ancient Indian Buddhist master. I was reading one of his texts recently and found that two of its stanzas were advice about what types of women to marry:

http://www.drikung.ee/lettertoafriendnagarjuna.pdf

"(36) Avoid (taking) these three (types of) wives,
Those whose natures are: to associate with your enemies,
like assassins,
To be contemptuous of their husbands, like baronesses,
Or to rob and steal even little things, like thieves.

(37) But one who, like a sister, is compatible (with you),
Or like a female friend, goes straight to your heart,
Or like a mother, wishes for your welfare,
Or like a maid, is obedient - honor her like a family deity."

Wise words indeed. Always like Buddhas style. He did the best he could absent the teaching of Christ. I can see Buddha and Jesus hanging out pretty easily.
How to deal with newbies that talk much but do little.

Pics or it didn't happen.

YES/NO

Cool story, bro.

Problem solved.
