It's now time in Japan for Covid-19 No. 7 vaccination. So far more than 7 million people were showing up by themselves after receiving the free coupon from the National Health Insurance.
My vaccination date will be the 8th of November.
If you cannot see any comment from me in this forum past 8th November I am likely dead.
Otherwise I will inform you about any side effects, if any. So far never any serious side effect, just one day or so some headache, feeling tired, or something like that. - It is highly recommended after the vaccination to rest at home for one day...no sports, take a day off if you are working.
This time no. 7 covid-19 vaccination will be Pfizer XBB.
I am now 6 x vaccinated, never been infected by covid-19.
I will be in Thailand again in January 2024, after getting also the yearly update seasonal flu vaccination around middle of December.
Yohan, please don't take any more of their vaccines. Regardless of whether you deem them safe or not, do you not feel like you're being pressured to take them unnecessarily? Do you even need a 7th booster shot? If you think there is a chance you'd likely be dead after taking another shot then maybe you shouldn't take it.
@Pixel--Dude
Thank you for your concern, but there is nothing to worry about. Omicron vaccinations are not unnecessary.
I took the covid-19 no.7 vaccination (Pfizer omicron XBB 1.5) on 8th November and of course I am not dead now, but still alive
Side effects, so far:
6 hours nothing at all
after that a little pain in the left arm for about 1 day and could not really sleep well
after got suddenly sleepy, 5 hours deep sleep and now... nothing, all gone.
This virus variant is now starting in Japan to infect many people, more and more every day, peak will be around Christmas time/New Year.
So far more than 10 million Japanese took already the vaccination.

About myself, in about 3 weeks there will be the newly updated seasonal flu vaccination for me as every year.
I am leaving Japan around 10th of January for Thailand, I prefer to be healthy and vaccinated. About pneumonia and seasonal flu, I take these shots since 15 years and in my case, it helps - since 2008 I have never been infected again.
Totally different situation up to 2008, where I had serious health problems, 2 times even in hospital with severe infected pneumonia, and countless times with flu, bronchitis, laryngitis etc.
-----
This is just my experience so far - about other people, I don't care if somebody is vaccinated or not. I cannot even know if somebody passing by next to me in a supermarket or shopping mall or sitting in the bus or train etc. is vaccinated or not.
Nobody is pressured here in Japan into vaccination. In Japan you get an invitation letter/coupon for free from the National Health Insurance by mail.
Up to you what you do with it - 3 choices:
1 - Throw it away in the dust bin, do not reply
2 - Take it to a clinic of your choice and explain the medical doctor, why you do not want to be vaccinated (because you are against it in general, or because you just had a surgery or illness, but consider vaccination later on etc.)
3 - Sign the consent form and book a date/time for vaccination.
After vaccination you can apply for an international vaccination certificate of Covid-19 from your ward office, you might request it is either sent to you per mail as a letter or to your mobile phone as PDF File. It's for free, no charges.
