Are women underpaid compared to men for same job?

Post by Moretorque »

I was just talking to somebody and they told me males are unfairly paid more for same job in US compared to females, is this true or socialist propaganda? Have things gotten better for women in this regard ? Opinions from the informed would be great and where to go to get the facts. Thanks for the help.

Adjusting for experience and time on the SAME job, women make the same to slightly more, e.g. truckers get paid by the mile -- miles are the same for male or female drivers.
The "wage gap" is between males working full time in STEM-C, HVAC and other heavy/difficult professions vs women working PART time or in customer service / hospitality.

How does gender play a role in the earnings gap?

Industry was found to have the
largest effect on the relationship, primarily because
predominately male industries, such as
construction and manufacturing, pay higher
wages

...
Because higher earnings are
associated with more experience, and women tend
to have less experience than men due to breaks in
their labor force participation for childrearing and
other reasons, this omission results in inaccurate
estimates of the contribution of each characteristic
to the wage gap

Hello,

Who cares?? The modern Western female has learnt well from the American male ~ that to keep complaining about others via massive, often true propaganda that omits facts is the best way to achieve dominance.

[~} Example ~ U.S.A. has been complaining the previous 60 years about how much oil is in the Middle-East and how much gold-deposits are in India. It is true those places have a lot of oil and gold. However, the U.S.A. has the largest reserves of oil and the largest amount of stored gold in the entire world! This salient fact is never told because it will give the other nations and people listening to the news a counter-weight against U.S.A.'s ambitions.

[~} Modern western females {(and now most females around the earth)} learnt this trick well. A despicable nation will naturally lead to despicable females if it frees them to be how they wish to be.

Good luck getting that far
1)Too much of one thing defeats the purpose.
2)Everybody is full of it. What's your hypocrisy?

Ghost wrote:You: Bullshit! If this were true, companies would hire only women in order to increase profits. They are known to cut benefits, hours, and pay so we know that companies will be ruthless to make more money. In addition, hiring only women would be seen as "socially progressive" and would give said companies doing this huge brownie points. The truth is that women get paid the same for the same jobs as men. But most women are getting paid low wages because they are working low-paying jobs. Low-level retail, etc.

Thanks for all the replies, what he was claiming was there are few women as CEO's on Wall Street but that is a male socialist country club created by males and also claiming here in my town all the school high end jobs were filled by males. I know in some fields women are not qualified because of lack of skills and strength.

This is a person I do some work for, he is probably just a programmed socialist feminist stooge.
You know a interesting stat I read was women stock clubs do better than men.
Any more replies are welcome.

Well, the fact is that women dominate the "human resources" field. If women were unfairly paid for the same skill sets and years of experience as a man, wouldn't HR step in and correct this problem?

So women are socialist by nature or has the state set it up as such?

By nature. They expect executive level wages for intern level effort & experience.
At my local metal recycling center, the people weighing and sorting the metal (heavy lifting, sharp edges, year round open to the weather), operating machinery, and in direct contact with the customers are ALL men.
The women are in a climate controlled office, watching security cameras, answering phones, and cashiering through transaction drawers.

Women are given the cushiest jobs and expect the same pay.

I know that but I am saying same work? there is no doubt about it men are the cement holding industrial nations afloat. What is happening to American men is what happens when they cannot produce a real society and this has been done on purpose.

Yea that myth was disbanded long ago. Majority of women have traditionally chosen fields that make less (teaching, lower level health care, humanities) whereas men take on more engineering and higher paying roles. When running the numbers per field, the gender wage gap is almost non-existent. Also you have to take into consideration that many women take pregnancy leave throughout the year as well as tend to stay at home more with their kids.

All variables being equal? Two people starting on the same day will be paid about the same.

If customers tip, a good looking woman's take home pay can run circles around a man working the same shift.

In Illinois, women in fact earn 71 cents for every 1 dollar a man earns, at the exact same job, too.
